Looking for a true Central Texas bass fishing experience? You've come to the right place. Bassquatch Fishing is owned and operated by full-time guide Captain Ander Meine, who helps anglers of all ages and skill levels make the most of their time on the water. Whether your goal is to chase trophy bass, learn new techniques, explore local lakes, introduce a kid to fishing, or simply enjoy a fun day outdoors—you'll get a trip tailored to your needs.
You'll fish from a fully rigged Nitro Z18 bass boat powered by a 150 HP Mercury outboard, equipped with top-quality rods, reels, and tackle. Capt. Ander will match the gear and approach to your goals—whether that means refining your skills with finesse presentations, learning seasonal patterns, or just keeping rods bent all day long.
Bassquatch Fishing runs trips on many of the Austin-area's best bass lakes, including Lake Austin, Travis, Buchanan, Stillhouse Hollow, Belton, and more. The main targets are Largemouth, Smallmouth, and Spotted Bass—hard-fighting fish that make every outing exciting.
All fishing equipment and bottled water are provided. You're welcome to bring your own rods if you prefer, but most clients enjoy trying Capt. Ander's setups designed for local conditions. Catch and release is encouraged, though you may keep fish within state regulations (please plan ahead for cleaning and transporting your catch, as those services are not provided).
Whether you're after a bucket-list trophy or just want to enjoy a day on the water, Bassquatch Fishing is ready to deliver a safe, professional, and memorable trip. Book today and find out why so many anglers return year after year to fish with Capt. Ander in Central Texas.

This was the fourth time I’ve hired a fishing guide. Of the four, Ander Meine of Bassquatch Fishing was by far the most organized, professional, and patient guide I’ve ever hired. Ander took the time before the trip to ask about my experience level, and planned a trip to best meet my expectations. On the water he clearly explained the water/fishing conditions he had been experiencing, was very patient in his explanations and suggestions, and, I caught my PB bass! Furthermore, after explaining the small waters i fish in Illinois, he provided me with a lot of information to take home, and apply to my kayak fishing at home. I look forward to returning to Austin to fish with him again in the near future. Steven D. Illinois

Thanks, Steve!
had a great time on town lake with Anders. despite a fishing tournament going on at the same time, Anders put us on the fish and we had fun catching them the entire duration. i would highly recommend to a friend!

Thanks, Shadid!

Ander is super friendly and knows the lake like the back of his hand. He set me up with everything, was super patient, and showed me all the secret spots. He even figured out right away what lures the fish wanted that day, so I was getting bites non-stop. Honestly such a fun experience — I’d recommend him to anyone looking for a great bass trip in Austin, whether you’re a beginner or more experienced.

Thanks, Hongchen!
My grandson and I had a fantastic day. We were very happy that we let our captain choose which lake to fish. He was very knowledgeable about the conditions, which type of lures to use, and how to use them.. A great day and we caught some beautiful bass.

Thanks Tim!

Thanks, Oliver!
I've been obsessed with fishing my whole life—my first fish came at age three, and by elementary school my nickname was 'Fish Boy.' At 14 I fished my first bass tournament, earned a sponsorship at 15, and competed heavily with multiple wins before stepping away at 19 to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That time away strengthened my discipline and ability to teach—qualities I now use every day as a guide. In 2008 I moved to Central Texas with my wife, and I've spent the past 17 years making these lakes my home. I love helping clients of all ages and skill levels—whether it's teaching someone to cast, guiding a family to their first fish, or chasing a personal best. Fun fact: I also spent 10 years teaching breakdancing, which taught me how to connect with people and bring energy to everything I do.
