Big Dog Status Outfitters LLC specializes in fishing the waters around Port Mansfield and invites you along for a trip to remember.
Here, you won’t be far from inshore and backcountry waters, including a few honeyholes that only the locals can clue you in on. Expect to target Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, Flounder, and Black Drum on light tackle. The guided trips consist primarily of drifting or wade fishing using bait or lures. Half-day and full-day trips are available. You’ll enjoy a fun day on the bay.
Fish within size and bag limits are yours to keep. Capt. J.R. will even clean your catch for you, so it’s hassle-free when you get home. Capt. J.R. will guide you through the local waters aboard a 24’ Center console that holds up to 6 passengers. Lodging is available upon request. Be sure to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group beforehand.
Ready to have the whole family unplug? Then you’ll be glad to know that kids are more than welcome. Everyone 17 and older must have a valid saltwater fishing license. Everyone 14 years of age and younger must wear a life jacket. It’s never a bad idea to bring snacks, drinks, sunblock, and sunglasses.

5 Hour Trip – Bay Fishing
Great father/son trip
Couldn’t have asked for a better captain. JR was great put us on the fish, caught some good trout took to restaurant down the street and they cooked for us blackened style. My son had the best time!! Can’t stop talking about it. 5 stars!!
