Capt. Dan grew up fishing the waters of Lake Erie, so it’s safe to say that he knows them as well as the back of his own hand. He knows exactly where the fish will be, and when they’ll be there – so if you’re after one species in particular, just let him know, and he’ll help you arrange your adventure when the fishing grounds are full to the brim!
You’ll be heading out with your captain on board a 21’ 2014 Parker 2120 SC offshore sport fishing vessel, equipped with a Yamaha outboard. Perfectly built to cruise the waters of Lake Erie, she’s decked out with the latest electronics to help you find and stay on fish. Your vessel also carries all necessary safety equipment to ensure a safe and fun trip for all guests. There’s also a full toilet on board, and life jackets for a variety of ages.
Capt. Dan will have you trying out a variety of techniques. Want to reel in Walleye? You’ll be trolling to your heart’s content in the spring, late summer, and fall. In early summer, get ready to cast instead. Steelhead more your thing? Troll for them close to shore in the summer and fall, and try out your captain’s exciting “casting spoons” method. Finally, if you’re pursuing Perch, you’ll be jigging the bottom of the lake throughout every season.
Your captain will provide top-quality rods and reels, lures, live bait, and refreshments for you – fishing is thirsty work, after all. All you need to do is purchase a valid fishing license. Come aboard Midtown Fishing Charters and get ready for the freshwater adventure of a lifetime!

Booked a day trip on thursday june 25 th 2020 beautiful day. 4 guys from wv ages from 60 's 50's 4's and one young man in his early 20's..3 of the 4 have never been on lake erie with only the elder one being a former eastsider and boat owner on the lake. With that being said captain Dan and his mate was on time and put everyone at ease about the safety and the enjoyment to come on this trip. Very nice sea worthy boat and equipment. The captain really worked hard to not only get fish in the boat but also to see that all on the boat enjoyed there selfs. He really put the effort in to catch fish more so than any other boat i have been on. Captain Dan and his female mate ( forgive me im terrible remembering names) are both fantastic at there job and even more important really good people.I grew up on lake erie and had my own 21' tricked out trolling boat till i got transferred out of state in 2000 and i know a few of the charter guys on the far eastside and i would say captain Dan worked harder to get fish in the boat than most of them. I DO NOT PROCLAIM TO BE A WRITER AND THIS IS THE FIRST REVIEW I EVER WROTE, THAT BEING SAID I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND MIDTOWN CHARTERS SERVICE TO ANYONE AND TO ALL. THANKS AGAIN FOR A GREAT TIME. Unfortunately foul weather prevailed but Dan and Tom both made the morning as enjoyable as possible. We also enjoyed the bounty of our trip with an all you can eat walleye dinner the same evening just hours after our charter hosts graciously prepped our fillets for us. I know who I'll be booking with for my next Lake Erie charter. Thanks guys!

Morning half day trip with Midtown Fishing
Half Day Trip (AM) on June 30, 2020
Captain Danny and 1st mate Sarah were awesome! Quick 6 mile jaunt out to "the spot" dropped in the lines and put us on a fish before we even got another line in the water. After that it was non-stop action til we decided we had enough fish to eat and store for future meals. A big plus was their knowledge of the fishery and Cleveland area. We have plenty to do and see for the rest of our week here. Thanks a lot, we will be back to charter again! Scott, Janna and Sabrina

Absolutely perfect way to end our vacation in Cleveland! Captain Danny knew all the best spots for walleye; ended up leaving with limit and several memories. Capt. Dan Mcdonnell has been fishing for 25 years. He grew up fishing Lake Erie for Walleye, Perch, and Steelhead, as well as farm ponds. Then while continuing to fish our Great Lake he began fly fishing the Lake Erie tributaries and targeting other species like Smallmouth Bass, Pike, and Muskie.
