Ready to cast a line in Oakley? Soo Hoo Sportfishing is your ticket! With over 30 years of experience, Captain Jeff Soo Hoo knows the Delta waters inside and out. His extensive knowledge of the river system and tidal movements is key to knowing when and where to find the fish, ensuring you have the best chance of success.
The Delta is known for Striped Bass and more – with any luck, they’ll make your reel scream. Capt. Jeff specializes in live bait drifting and spooning (jigging), which typically produce lots of action, making these trips perfect for beginner fishermen of all ages as well as seasoned anglers looking to hone their skills.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so be sure to check if the appropriate size is available on board. You’re welcome to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
You’ll be fishing from a newly built 23’ Aluminum Coastal boat, the MoMo, equipped with all the essentials for a comfortable and safe experience. With room for up to 4 passengers, Capt. Jeff provides top-quality rods and reels along with a variety of lures. Live bait is available, but it’s always good to ask in advance if you’ll be catching it yourself.
A local fishing license might be required before the trip, so make sure to check online or ask Capt. Jeff for guidance. Some species may be protected or require a tag to keep them, so it’s important to be informed about regulations.
Don’t forget to bring bottled water, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but please avoid hard liquor and glass bottles. With everything prepared, you’ll be all set for a memorable day on the water.
