It’s time to bend a rod with 2 Lagoon Charters. Captain Fred Pharis has 20+ years of experience fishing the Indian River and Mosquito Lagoons within the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge on Florida’s Space Coast. The park and surrounding waters are a unique estuary system with some of the most pristine grass flats in the state!

Hop aboard his recently restored 18’ Man-O-War skiff with a 2017 90hp Suzuki where up to 3 anglers can fish comfortably. Fishing and catching is good year round! Our primary target fish are Redfish where often we find schools of tailing fish and there is always an opportunity to catch ’em in the 20 to 40lbs range, Speckled Trout, and Black Drum are always around as well!

Winter into Summer offers the opportunity to catch “Gator” Speckled Trout up to 10lbs and find large schools of Black Drum. Summer offers Tarpon and an occasional Snook! All these fish are caught in 1’ to 5’ of water and sight fishing on the right days are awesome! All fishing gear and licenses are included on the trip.

You’ll be using top of the line Penn rods and reels loaded with Spiderwire invisi-braid line. We’ll fish using a variety of methods; live and cut bait and artificial. The bite will dictate what methods are used! Everyone is welcome, especially kids! Whatever your age and experience level, you are sure to have a fantastic time in this awesome estuary! There are a variety of trips available to include Space Coast rocket launch viewing just a few miles away from the Cape Kennedy launch pads.

There’s no better time to book a trip, join 2 Lagoon Charters today for an unforgettable day! You’re sure to come back time and time again!

Captain Fred has fished the Indian River and Mosquito Lagoons for over 20 years! He enjoys putting anglers on a wide range of species in our shallow waters, from average size Reds, Trout, Black Drum, Snook and Tarpon (seasonal) to fish over 40 lbs – all in 6' or less of water. His number one objective is for everybody fishing with him to enjoy their day on the water, have tight lines and enjoy this awesome estuary! Captain Fred will work hard to make your trip memorable, he's laid back with a no pressure approach toward his anglers. All anglers are welcome from novice to experienced, especially kids! You'll find Captain Fred's skiff and fishing equipment well maintained and in good working order.

Fishing Report September/October - Mosqu
Fishing Report September/October - Mosqu
October 15, 2024
Catching has been on fire! Most if not all trips have been in the double digits for my anglers in September and October. Catches include Redfish, Trout, Black Drum with a few Snook and Tarpon in the mix. The Summer heat is finally over which means cool mornings and light breezes! Using a combination of artificial and cut baits to catch these fish! With the passing of Hurricane Milton, the water levels are way up and fishing/catching is still on FIRE! On a recent trip my anglers caught 35 Redfish, a few trout and a couple of Black Drum on a 5 hour trip! Expecting the first cold front of the season in the next day or two and this should cool of the water significantly which should allow for catching to continue most of the day instead of early to mid morning!!!! So if your looking for a solid day of action on the Lagoon or Indian River, Send me an inquiry or book a trip, you won't be disappointed. As we get into November and December, there's an opportunity to catch some wintertime Snook in and around docks and residential canals in the area; all artificial baits! Overall, fishing and catching should continue to be strong for the remainder of the year! Tight Lines and Let's Go Catching!
