At Dog Bone Charters, Captain Greg Prieur wants you to have a fun and safe adventure. Being a Michigan native, Capt. Greg has been fishing in the area his whole life. He decided to turn his lifelong passion into a profession and became a licensed guide. His trips are available every day from May to the end of October.

Capt. Greg specializes in trolling, which is one of the most productive fishing techniques in Manistee. Your main targets will be Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Coho Salmon, and Chinook Salmon. You will use cut bait to catch Salmon, which is something this hard-fighting fish cannot resist as it has a voracious appetite.

You’ll be fishing on a 30’ Cherokee sportfishing boat, powered by 2 strong 350 HP Crusader engines. She accommodates a group of 6 guests and has plenty of seating space. While you wait for the fish to bite, you can rest under the hardtop, or soak up the sun at the back of the boat. The boat also features a private toilet, icebox for the catch, and downriggers.

At the end of your trip, Captain Greg will hang your catch for trophy pictures and then clean and package your fish for you to take home. Feel free to bring your own cooler for snacks and drinks. Each person 17 and older needs to purchase a valid Michigan fishing license before the trip.

Your adventure starts in Manistee marina. There’s free parking nearby. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to meet the crew and load your stuff on the boat.
