Windrift Sport Fishing
Step aboard the Windrift and experience the best fishing Saginaw Bay has to offer. Based out of Linwood, Michigan, Windrift Sport Fishing is in a prime location on Lake Huron’s popular bay. Captain Douglas McQueen will be your guide on these waters. An avid angler throughout his life, he’s been a certified captain since 1980. With decades of experience fishing the Great Lakes, there’s nobody better to show you what fishing is all about here.
You’ll drift along the bay aboard a 30’ Sea Ray cruiser, powered by twin 340 HP Mercury engines. Restored in 2016 to modern standards, she’s built for your comfort. Fitted with a kitchen, bed, and toilet, you’re in for a smooth ride on board. She’s also a vessel built for serious fishing. A livewell and outriggers are fitted on board, including space to set up to 16 trolling lines, so you’ll have the advantage when trying to lure the bite.
It’s all about the Perch on these waters. The largest of the family, Walleye, is targeted throughout the season, with Yellow Perch showing up from August to September. The bigger species are a match for any angler and you’ll have to be on your A-game to keep these beauties on the end of your line all the way to the boat. Spring into action when you hear the reels screech, and use all of your strength to pull the fish in.
Capt. Douglas will do everything he can to get you on the fish, contacting other captains if necessary. At the end of the day, his first mate will clean and prepare your catch to take home. These fish are delicious, and so you’re in for a real treat when you fry it up later that night. Just make sure to bring a cooler to keep the fish fresh when on board. No Experience? No problem!!
Both the captain and the 1st mate were so accommodating and helped all of us have a great experience on a hot day when the fish were not biting. They worked their tails off to find the right spot and the right bait. We all were able to catch at least 4 fish each and even the ones we did not keep were so fun to catch. We ended up catching 18 good sized Walleye and the best part is they cleaned and bagged them for us.These are very experienced fishermen and they are so kind and patient. I will very easily book this again when I'm in the area. I highly recommend!!

Incredible!!!
Wow what a good time!! It started out a little slow because of fog and smoke but we moved around and finally got on the walleye and it was a blast!! These guys are so nice and we were asking a million questions and they never were anything but completely awesome!!! We already booked another trip and can't wait to go again so much fun and effortless....well for us they were busting their butts all day. Thanks a lot guys we all appreciate you so much! My sons 18th bday was incredible thanks to you yall

Great trip
The best part of this experience was the captain and mate watching them work together to get 18 lines out was a treat Captain Doug did a great job keeping us on fish and Ken worked hard to keep everyone happy and done a great job netting our fish Owning my own boat in Mt and taking a lot of people fishing I know how hard it is to active fish they did a superb job of this thanks for this and the great communication before the trip to fish before the rain I don’t know of a sitting I would change except my wife beating me for the largest fish I am already thinking of getting my 2 grand kids up there to catch fish next June we kept 25 walleye and 2 perch fish fry tonight. Thank you gentlemen for a great time

What a GREAT Day!!
Captain Doug was ready to go as soon as we got there. First mate Ken was already on the boat. The two of them working together was amazing. I kept asking what the words ment that they were speaking as we went throughout the day. They never tired of answering my questions. The day spent with them was AMAZING!!! We caught our limit and headed back. As they were cleaning our awesome catch they taught us how to freeze them so they would retain there fresh flavor. Also shared some great recipes that I can't wait to try! I could tell right away that the Captain and the first mate love what they do!!! Went way out of there way to make sure we had a Great Time AND WE DID!!! Thank you both!!! We will definitely be back. This charter is a 10 star!!!
