We ha a great trip. We caught 6 Dorado in the first 2 hrs. Capn Armando (apologies if I got that wrong) put us on the fish within 30 mins of leaving dock and it was non stop for a while. In the last 2 hrs we saw whales and an amazingly fast seal / sea lion that was able to keep up with the speeding boat an stick his head in while we’re moving fast to get a bait fish from our hands. I took a couple young guys who never experienced this and they loved it. Not all trips were like this but our capn knew what he was doing. Not a lot of talking on his part but the proof is in my cooler. Taking bout 20lbs of Mahi home.

Captain Mario was awesome and very knowledgeable of the area, fish and land monuments. His english was great and we were able to communicate without any issues. He was very respectful of us wanting to stay shallow with the shore in sight and was able to put us on great fish.

There were no cons to my trip or experience so let me list some highlights and please look at the pictures!

1. Getting to drive the boat, cruising past the arch and getting golf course/resort tour from the boat while trolling was awesome since this place is so breathtaking

2. The world’s friendliest seals wanted to hangout with us so bad and were very fun around the boat, definitely dogs of the water

3. The price is unbeatable. We did not know what to expect for $250 USD but checked the box for everything we wanted to do.

4. Fish cooked 8 ways at a nice dockside restaurant which was absolutely delicious. The price for them to clean and prepare the fish + alcohol was $60 USD, which for the quality, location and service was legitimately unbeatable. The same meal at Ocean Prime would be $700

5. The marina where we launched had great price everything from water to soda to breakfast. Our hotel is in a food desert so being able to pick things up, pre trip was mandatory and worked out well. We were also very easily and quickly able to get fishing licenses here.

6. Mario is a great guy with 14 years of experience that shows. I will be booking with him whenever I’m back next

I could keep going but TLDR; if you’re on the fence due to price or boat, don’t be, they do things right at Mahi Mahi and my buddy is going to leave a very similar review. Thanks guys!

Went out with Mario, ended up with three Bonita, one was big. The boat was in excellent shape and Mario definitely knew his stuff. The wind was blowing super hard and made it to where we couldn’t go out far safely. We ended up fishing the shore for a while and then, when the wind calmed down, we were able to head out a little ways. I wish the weather would have cooperated better. We did see one marlin and got to have a tug-of-war with a sea lion trying to steal one of the Bonita. It was a great day fishing. Just wish the weather was better.

Our captain was Cesar and he was hard working and did a great job. We caught one Mekhi and one Marlin, another Marlin was hooked but couldn’t land it.
We saw whales, sea lions, Seay turtle, a huge Marlin on the surface, many Dolphins.
