Whether you’re a couple, pair of friends, or father and son, Captain Jeff Vickers can’t wait to welcome you aboard. Head down to Dunedin, FL, and make the most of the incredible inshore fishery on offer in the St. Joseph Sound and Old Tampa Bay. Capt. Jeff grew up on these waters and has fished here his whole life. He has more knowledge than anyone of the local fishery, and promises to take you to the sweet spots.
To navigate these shallow waters, you’ll need an appropriate vessel. The 18’ Fly Boatworks custom-made flats boat is ideal for staying afloat on top of even the skinniest of waters. A light boat, she can maneuver comfortably with just a 40 HP Yamaha engine. You’ll find a cooler on board to keep your catch fresh, but you should bring your own to take it home with you.
Expect to reel in a range of delicious and exciting fish. Home to incredible sportfishing, you’ll target some worldwide favorites, such as Snook and, during the summer, the Silver King – Tarpon. Expect an almighty struggle as you battle it out with these beats who are notorious for breaking many lines.
If it’s food that you want, there are plenty of delicious species ready to bite at the end of your line. Using the spinning technique, you can target Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Spanish Mackerel to fill up your fridge and keep you suitably full for days on end.

Afternoon halfway session with captain Jeff
Great 4 hours experience out with Captain Jeff Vickers fishing the flats of Clearwater. His knowledge of the local area is excellent, putting us right onto the fish within minutes resulting in loads of reds, snook, spotted trout and even a mullet on the lures ended up in the net! He was really helpful throughout the day and took his time explaining the methods required. I will definitely be going again next time I'm in the country, great lad!!!
