Captain Charly Vasquez is behind the helm of Jazmin, and his main goal is to make sure you have an unforgettable time on water with him. Along with his friendly, experienced first mate, he’ll take you out on an adventure for the chance to hook some incredible saltwater species. These waters are home to hard-fighting Mahi Mahi, mighty Marlin, Mackerel species, Grouper, and more. Capt. Charly welcomes anglers of all ages and skill levels to come aboard and discover just what Tulum has to offer!
You’ll be heading to the hotspots on board a 25’ Yamaha center console, built to tackle a variety of fishing grounds, with room for up to 4 guests to test out their fishing skills. She’s decked out with top-of-the-line navigational and safety gear, and will provide a safe and comfortable journey to where the fish are biting. There’s also an ice box on board to store your catch and keep it fresh – after your trip, Capt. Charly will take you to the El Capitan restaurant in Tulum to serve it up!
Depending on the length of your trip and what you target, you’ll travel between 2–10 km offshore. If you’re all about battling big game, your captain recommends joining him between June and July, when these waters are abundant with Mahi Mahi, Marlin, and Sailfish. If you visit at another time, you’ll have the chance to tangle lines with King and Spanish Mackerel, bottom-dwelling Grouper, Barracuda, and more.

Half Day Trip (AM) on March 9, 2025
We had an amazing day with captain Carlos and his deck mate. We caught 5 barracuda and 1 Spanish Mackerel, the guides said the fishing was slower than normal but we were just happy to be out there! Because the fishing was slow they brought us to an area where we snorkelled with sea turtles and stingrays which was nothing short of amazing. After landing on shore we headed to El Capitan Restaurant where we were met with a warm welcome and served the fish we just caught, fresh Barracuda Ceviche & Mackerel fillets prepared 4 different ways. Was a phenomenal experience and would absolutely recommend!

Bottom line, great trip, 4 hour morning trip. From timely and accurate coordination to our pick up and return to hotel, first class with no worries. Charlie runs a great operation. He insured all the details were known and spot on. Oscar and Carlos on the boat had us moving and super comfortable after thorough safety briefing. At one point we had 3 fish on at same time and what could have been chaos was a calm catch of a barracuda and 2 mahi mahi. That was enough for our dinner of 10 people later that evening but we added 2 more during our session. They cleaned and filleted mahi mahi and cut beautiful steaks of the barracuda which were expertly prepared back at our resort. We would definitely book again. Highly recommend for a trip out of tulum!

We had an amazing trip with Jasmin charters! Our captain was Fernando, he was extremely nice, interesting, and helpful. Very well organized crew, and very good at what they do. We caught 8 barracuda, 1 spanish mackerel, and a giant snapper. We had a fantastic lunch and margaritas back at Captain Charly's place (which is beautiful) before heading back. The ocean was rough but these guys could handle it. Fish on!
