The Gulf of Mexico can be very challenging to get offshore if you're in a small vessel. We offer a large and comfortable boat capable of handling offshore waters and keeping your family safe!
You’ll be fishing aboard our 40ft Seahunter, the largest center console charter vessel leaving out of Pensacola Pass, powered by triple 350 HP Yamaha engines. The boat is set up for offshore fishing, so it’ll take you to the fishing spots quickly, giving you more time to enjoy the action. There are navigational electronics to help put you on the fish, as well as snorkeling equipment if you want to enjoy the underwater world.
We bring our tournament experience to our charters to target your fish of a lifetime. Over the years, we have won multiple fishing tournaments and won the ska championship in 2017. The crew offers tons of different trips, making sure to tailor each adventure to your exact needs. Depending on where you want to go and how much time you want to spend fishing, you can choose between deep sea fishing, Shark fishing, offshore fishing, or inshore and nearshore fishing.
Some of the species you may target include Grouper, Snapper, King Mackerel, Sailfish, Amberjack, and many others. The Southbound Tournament team covers it all, from meat hauls to catch and release.

Affordable 6 Hour offshore
July fishing trip
I booked their Affordable 6 Hour Offshore charter for 7/24 about a month in advance for my son, (17), and myself. Being from Central Florida and watching the local weather for the two weeks prior showed nothing but repeated low pressure systems forming in the Atlantic and tracking into the Gulf, and as luck would have it, the latest low was scheduled to be over Pensacola on the day of our charter. So I knew there was a chance that going offshore would be cancelled. Levi, our captain, made sure to keep me fully informed on the conditions and the night before our trip it was decided to stay inshore. We got wet, which we didn’t mind at all, but stayed out of the rough conditions. Levi put us right on the fish early on, unfortunately conditions prevented us from going to the prime inshore areas and forced us to stay within a short distance of the boat ramp incase of lightning. So the bite did get a little slow. Levi put in 110% to put us back on the fish, which he was able to do. So, by the end of our charter we were able to go home with some Speckled Trout for the freezer. All in all, any day fishing is a good day. Going home with fish is a great day. So we had a great day. Levi was very knowledgeable about the local conditions and fishery. He made our trip enjoyable. Next time we get out to the Panhandle we’ll use Southbound again and get offshore, but for now I can positively recommend Southbound and Levi for their Inshore charter.

6 Hour Trip – Offshore (AM)
Would not recommend for red snapper.
Update: I’m disappointed by this response. I booked this trip to take my family fishing while my personal boat was in service, not to “steal spots.” The captain repeatedly asked if we were local, what we wanted to catch, and whether we planned to eat the fish, despite having discussed this in advance. I was upfront about being local and simply wanted to put my visiting family on some fish during snapper season. On the day of the trip, we spent hours on unproductive spots, and when I checked my phone toward the end to see if I had a spot that could salvage the trip, I shared it openly in hopes of saving the experience—not to take anything from the captain. We ended up with 9 small vermillion snapper and no red snapper, which was extremely disappointing given the cost and the season. The captain’s decision to fish only public numbers and then accuse me of trying to steal private numbers after I paid over $1600 for a charter is unfair and unprofessional. I left a review reflecting my experience, not to hurt the business, but to help others make an informed decision.
