Sea Venture "The Canyon Specialist" – 40'
Captain Peter Stassi is the man behind Sea Venture “The Canyon Specialist”, and he has one motto that’s the driving force behind his charter: “Life is short…fish hard!” Check his Monthly Fishing Reports.
Plain and simple, there’s no substitute for experience. Capt. Peter has spent over 40 years fishing the waters all around Shinnecock and Montauk. He’s a full-time captain who has devoted a lifetime to canyon and inshore sportfishing. He offers a variety of exciting angling adventures, from inshore trips targeting trophy Striped Bass, Bluefish, and Doormat Fluke, to multi-day offshore adventures that explore deep into the Canyons. He will have you Trolling, Chunking, and jig for huge Blue and Yellowfin Tuna. Reeling in Marlin, Wahoo, and Sharks to name just a few!
Naturally, a top-of-the-line fishing machine is of the utmost importance. To meet this requirement Capt. Peter chose the Custom 40’ Topaz Royale Express Sport Fisherman. She features plenty of deck space for up to 5 guests, the latest navigational and safety gear, a clean private toilet, a stateroom with beds, and a dinette for those overnight trips (maximum 4 guests for overnight trips). Most of all, she is fast!
Capt. Peter specializes in offshore trips that explore all the Northeast Canyons, from Veatch to the Hudson Canyon. On these trips, you’ll travel anywhere from 25 miles to 100+ miles out. Expect to battle huge big game such as Big Eye, and Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Marlin, Wahoo, and more.
