When you want to experience spectacular fishing and Costa Rican hospitality in all its light, I Got You Sport Fishing is the charter company to turn to! Bountiful waters to explore, plenty of fish to catch, and rich local culture are more than enough to fall in love with Quepos and keep coming back to it time after time.
Your friendly guide, Captain Jessie Ponce, has been casting his lines in the area as soon as he could hold a rod, and he has more than 20 years of expertise to offer to his anglers.
He will take you out to the best fishing spots on his 21’ center console, comfortable enough to seat up to 4 people. The vessel is stable and efficient, thanks to its 70 HP Suzuki engine, so everyone on board can fish freely at the same time.
Inshore fishing is your captain’s specialty, and it’s hardly a surprise – Quepos is known for its excellent year-round inshore fishing. All the favorite species are on your to-catch list, including Roosterfish, Jack Crevalle, King Mackerel, Mangrove Snapper, and much more. If you head out a bit further, you will be on the hot trail of delicious Mahi Mahi, and the best time to chase these gorgeous fish is in November.
You don’t need to worry about quality fishing equipment, snacks, or drinks, Capt. Jessie will provide everything. It’s up to you to pack sunscreen, long-sleeved shirts, and hats to be protected from the unyielding sun. Your guide is all about fishing responsibly, and while you can keep the fish you intend to eat, the rest of the catch will be released.
With I Got You Sport Fishing, you get to enjoy an exciting fishing expedition and experience firsthand the famous Costa Rican culture and spirit. It doesn’t matter if you’re a pro angler or a beginner, Capt. Jessie will make sure your time on the water with him is unforgettable!

Full Day Trip
Jessie and Alberto were amazing. Jessie picked us up and drove us to his dad Alberto in the marina who took us fishing for a full day. Alberto was patient and tried many different depths and lures. We changed spots several times and did very well. We landed two yellow fin, a dorado, two rooster fish and a needlefish. It was a quiet, peaceful day on the water AND we caught so many fish. These guys were very reasonably priced, very helpful, and very knowledgeable. We would totally recommend them to anyone who wants a mellow day of fishing in Quepos.

A low key, center console, simple outboard motor boat, operated by a knowledgeable, very experienced captain made for a great time seeing the beautiful Pacific coast local waters and good fishing. Of course Captain made sure we released the impressive Rooster Fish. The Jack Crevall became dinner.

We (son and I) had a great morning fishing. Bonito, Amberjack and Spanish Mackerel. Small boat, two rods, good action. Crew was on time, very helpful. Fished few spots for different kind of fish. Jessie offers a good deal if you are into raw fishing experience. Get sunscreen and hat.

Half Day Trip
Where should I start? We met at an ill-defined meeting place, and the "captain" didn't appear. We found a local who knew him, and called him for us. I was handed the phone. The "captain" said he couldn't contact us the day before, and assumed the day was off. Well, I came from Ecuador, and naturally was incommunicado - my cell-phone wasn't set up for Costa Rica. The "captain's" phone number was nowhere on my paperwork, nor was the phone number of anybody else. He said we could go that afternoon, or the next day. I wanted to go at the appointed hour, since all our time was booked, and he said he would be there in half an hour. Promptly an hour and a quarter later, we got in the boat. There were issues. They had three fishing poles for four fishermen. THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY BAIT! Didn't they know fishing works better with bait? We went to buy bait from some guy floating in the bay, but he had none. So for an hour and a half - no exaggeration - we watched the "captain" try to catch some little fish for bait in a dirty little backwater. He finally caught one. We then went fishing. With plugs. We trolled around for the rest of our morning, with absolutely no bites. I, the person without a pole, was to fish after one of the others caught a fish, so I never touched a pole. And that bait fish? It was still in the live well when we left. Some extras were that there was no protection from the sun, and my vertebral column is about an inch shorter after being smashed into a big wave before we learned we had to support ourselves with our butts off the boat seat at speed. We sat in the front, the driver was standing in the back, where the smashing didn't occur. In time, my back should heal. You could say the whole day sucked. There is nothing positive to say about it. You do yourselves a disfavor by listing him.
