Nauti Hooker Charters invites you to fish with them on the astonishing waters of Chesapeake Bay. They’ll take you to the best-known fishing hot spots of the Eastern Shore of Maryland but also show you a few hidden places you may have never seen. Capt. Richard Phippin has been fishing the bay since he was a teenager and he knows it like the palm of his hand.

Your trip will be aboard Miss Nikki, a 25’ Maycraft pilothouse with an extended hardtop and canvas for those cold days. Powered by a 300 HP Suzuki engine, with a cruising speed of 25 knots, rest assured you’ll get where you need to be very fast. The boat is equipped with a state-of-the-art navigation system, fish finder, and safety equipment. She also features an enclosed cabin with a porta potty. Miss Nikki is fully licensed and insured.

The Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries offer an opportunity to catch many different species depending on the time of year. You can go after Striped Bass (Rockfish), Spotted Seatrout, Speckled Trout, Bluefish, Silver Perch, Flounder, or Spanish Mackerel. You’ll be trolling, light tackle casting, jigging, and bait fishing – whatever will make the fish bite best.

All ages and experience levels are welcome – from friends just looking to fish, to families looking for a fun trip, from beginners to experts. Nauti Hooker Charters tailors their trips to meet your needs.

Book a trip with Nauti Hooker Charters and Capt. Richie for a memorable day on the water. You just need to show up, they will do the rest!

Captain Richard grew up around anglers and started fishing himself when he was a teenager. He loved it and he has been doing it ever since. The captain tries to do whatever is the best method for the time of year and the fish he is pursuing. His absolute favorite is casting to breakers and jigging in the fall. Captain Richard occasionally participates in "catch and release" fishing tournaments. His biggest catch so far is 43" Rockfish.

Ugh Rain and Wind
Ugh Rain and Wind

Well its day 5 of wind and rain here on the Chesapeake Bay. It will be over soon and guess what? It's Rocktober! October on the Chesapeake Bay is when our migratory species usually exit and the fall run of Rockfish begins. With the cooling waters we will be looking for fish shallow at first light. Then we switch to chasing birds and working river mouths! It's an exciting time of year for sure. Don't miss out we still have some dates available.

Wow summer sure has flown by. Kids are back to school, football season, cooler nights, and soon cooler days. Well that doesn't stop us! Fall is an excellent fishing season on the Chesapeake. I am just returning from a little RNR trip my self. Now back at it. There are some spanish mackerel and blue fish around. They can be caught trolling or casting and jigging. The rockfish bite is starting to go in a fall pattern. They can be caught shallow in the low light conditions casting lures to structure. As the day goes on they go deeper. They then can be caught jigging or running and gunning chasing breakers. Still some speckled trout around. There are a few here and there in the shallows, but that should pick up again before the water cools to much. Still plenty of spot and perch around for bottom fishing. Every once in a while there are some legal croakers mixed in. I have seen some small flounder also but no keeper size ones yet. That could happen tho. The new Suzuki outboard is amazing. I really love it. As always the boat is on a trailer so we move around a lot when needed. We offer charters from many different locations. Once you book a trip I will custom tailor it to you. Don’t miss out.

Fall fishing is really heating up. Nice cool nights have the bay temps in the mid to upper 70's. We had some nice bluefish and fat too this weekend. Still saw some spanish mackerel managed to get 1 to bite. They have definitely been finicky this year. Rockfish are starting their fall patterns. We probably have a few weeks left for the blues and mackerel before they are gone for the year. Book a trip before its to late. We offer trolling. bottom fishing, light tackle and live lining.
