Boston Angler

Are you ready to experience the Great Lakes like never before? Fish with Captain Chuck, who knows these waters like the back of his hand, and will do everything he can to get you on the fish and reeling a winner! Capt. Chuck has been fishing Lake Ontario every summer since he was a kid and moved from Boston to fish here full time.

Step on board his 33’ Trojan boat. This beautiful vessel is a great size for 6 anglers to fish without crossing lines. She’s built for sportfishing! The boat is powered by twin 454 Crusader 350 HP engines that can easily weather the lake waters.

The spring will see you targeting Brown Trout, Atlantic Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Coho, and Chinook Salmon. The summer will see you heading further out, up to 12 miles, for Steelhead and Lake Trout, with the possibility of some King Salmon. Early fall sees Kings and big Brown Trout, and later fall more Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout.

Trolling is good fun for the whole family. You’ll enjoy excellent fishing as well as a chance to sit back and relax. There’s no minimum age for children on board and there are some life vests available for them. However, for very small kids, parents should bring their own life vests.

Included in the price are top quality rods and reels from Shimano. These won’t let you down, whether you’re reeling in your first fish ever or your hundredth! After the trip, the captain will fillet your catch for you.

Before the trip begins, you must have a fishing license. You should also bring food and drink along. These can be in your own cooler or go into the captain’s refrigerator. The first mate will be working hard on your behalf, so don’t forget to tip him at the end of the trip.

Book a trip with the Boston Angler today for the ultimate Lake Ontario fishing experience. This is an unforgettable trip the whole family will love.

Chuck was an excellent captain, constantly adjusting and trolling gear and trying different spoon jigs from his immense collection. Simon was a capable and attentive first mate that kept all the tackle in good shape and was ready to set the hook on any bites. While we did get pretty unlucky with how many strikes turned into fights with fish, we did catch 2 large brown trout, a solid sized king salmon, and a little king salmon which my little brother was able to reel in for his first catch ever. This trip was great and even though we caught 4 fish we knew it wasn’t for lack of effort or skill from the crew and certainly wasn’t due to the quality of the gear or the boat. You will not find a charter with a better boat for a cheaper price, I can’t recommend Boston Angler enough.

I am usually not one for hyperbole in reviews, but anything I can say about Chuck and the marvelous experience my girlfriend and I had fishing would be understatement. The boat was comfortable, the captain knowledgeable, the trip, laid-back, and just an immensely pleasant experience all around… We will be returning to the area primarily to set out with the Boston angler again.

I have never met a harder working and knowledgeable captain on my 20+ trips. He was friendly, clean accommodating and determined for me and my group to catch our limit.

As a kid, my family spent summers on Lake Ontario. I spent many days fishing with my father and grandfather. About 15 years ago, I moved from Boston to be at the lake full time, hence the name of my boat and got back into what I loved since I was a kid. In 2013, I bought a much bigger boat and got my captain's license. Now I enjoy showing what the Great Lakes have to offer. Whether you're a seasoned fisherman, someone new to the sport, or a kid with his/her first King on the line, everyone gets excited when that fish hits the deck...and it never gets old for me!
