If you’re looking for an authentic Costa Rican fishing guide, then Mar Vida adventures has you covered. This locally-owned and operated fishing charter will take you from Potrero, Guanacaste, to the reefs and deep waters out in the Pacific. Come and discover these magical waters on a bucket list-checking experience.
Captain Diego is a fishing enthusiast and knows the waters of Costa Rica like the back of his hand. With over 20 years on the water, and 8 years of experience as a captain, he knows exactly what you want out of your day on the water. He promises to give you an insight into local customs, and take you back to shore with the prospect of a traditional dish ahead of you.
Aboard the 27’ Shamrock offshore sport fishing boat, you’ll have everything you need for a fun, productive trip. Capt. Diego is committed to keeping you happy, so the spacious boat comes fitted with a toilet, and plenty of comfortable seating. He’ll also provide snacks, sandwiches, and drinks (including beer), so you’re in for a fun day out.
Live bait will be waiting for you on board, and you’ll troll using the downriggers and outriggers. Settle into the fighting chair as soon as you grab the rod and you’ll have the edge over the fish as you try to hook ‘em aboard.
Bottom fish for delicious Snappers and Groupers, along with exotic Roosterfish and Jack Crevalles along the reefs. In the deeper waters, you’ll have to use all your strength to reel in some of the ocean’s biggest creatures. Stunning Sailfish will leave you mesmerized, while leaping Marlin will dazzle you. Land a Tuna or Mahi Mahi, and head back to shore with a delicious treat to cook up.
At the end of the day, your first mate will clean and fillet your catch, so you can devour your day’s work right away on the beach. Let the captain know in advance if you’d like to try spearfishing, and get back to basics like the Costa Ricans of old. The trip of a lifetime awaits with Mar Vida Adventures!
