Surrounded by some world-famous waterways, with everything from Salmon species to prehistoric Sturgeon on offer, you'll need an experienced, local captain to guide you to the hottest spots around – Captain Desmond Enquist, the man at the helm of Hookin It Up, is more than up to the job!
A lifelong fishing fanatic, Capt. Desmond has over 35 years of experience when it comes to exploring the waters of the Pacific NW. No matter your age or level of angling experience, Capt. Whether you're looking to cast off and meet new friends, or want to take your kids out on a family adventure, they've got you covered!
You'll be traveling on a 23' Alumaweld aluminum fishing vessel, newly-restored in 2018. She's perfectly built to cruise these waters, and has room for up to 6 anglers on board – which means there's plenty of space to bring along the whole family, or to socialize with your new angling buddies! She's decked out with GPS, fishfinder, and life jackets in a variety of sizes, although Capt. Desmond recommends bringing along your own vests for little ones.
Astoria is located along the famous Columbia River, as well as a variety of other impressive waterways and fishing grounds, so you'll be spoiled for choice when it comes to the locations (and species!) on offer here. You'll have the chance to target anything from hard-fighting Coho Salmon, to gigantic Chinook Salmon, Kokanee, Sturgeon, Steelhead, and whatever else is biting. Capt. Desmond will show you the best techniques to use to hook your dream catch, too.
Each trip includes rods, reels, bait, and tackle, so all you need to bring is a license. Come aboard Hookin It Up Guide Service III and experience the best of the Pacific NW!

He was great. It was a very slow start at the beginning but he found sturgeon for us in a big way. We ended up catching 1 at about 5ft, one at about 6ft and one over 5ft. It was amazing.

The captain was great, sadly the weather was terrible and miserable but I would most definitely book again!

Thanks for coming out. See you next time
