Alex was great
Alex was friendly and personable. A pleasure to being in the boat with. Alex has an unbelievable ability to spot fish and actually see the fish take the fly. i wait to feel the take and then set the hook. Alex would set a hook when he sees the take, well before I would. would do it again nexttime in Cozumel.

Alex was very accommodating and picked me up at my hotel. We drove to the marina north of Cozumel and boated to the mangroves. Within 10 minutes of anchoring, caught 2 bone fish… the day carried on like that, I lost count after awhile. Lots of fun. Caught a few snooker too. Alex supplied drinks and snacks and was very conscious of how the fish were responding. One of my most memorable experiences. Will be hard to beat this one.

Alex met me at the ferry pier, where we hopped in his truck and drove to the North end of Cozumel. Alex speaks fluent English so communication was easy. We got in his boat and headed up the coast and up into a tidal water area with some mangroves and flats. The weather started off overcast and windy, which makes spotting fish a challenge. Despite the difficult spotting conditions, he was able to put me on some bonefish. Some were caught blind casting into areas that he knew typically held fish, and some were caught when he would spot them and call out a direction to cast in. If you are staying in Playa Del Carmen, or Cozumel, and looking to hook some fish on a fly, then Alex is a great option. Highly recommend!
