They offer exciting offshore fishing trips and love providing all of their guests with an experience of a lifetime.
You will head out on their 38’ Bertram sport fishing boat, which comes powered by twin 370 HP Cummins engines to get you to the action in no time. This beautiful vessel includes a flybridge with cover, as well as a full set of navigational equipment.
The spacious deck can accommodate up to six anglers, and the boat is rigged with outriggers, center rigger and live bait tank to ensure you are prepared for a day full of fishing action. For your comfort, the galley is air-conditioned and features a toilet, shower, and a kitchen with refrigerator.
Your adventure with Great Escape Charters in the Gulf of Mexico will begin by throwing out the trolling lures onto the water as you break out of Perdido Pass, to target Kings, Bonita, Wahoo, Spanish Mackerel, and other migratory species. You will then run up to 20 miles offshore, depending on the fish bite, and when you arrive at the fishing grounds your deckhand will have you baited up and ready to fish.
Great Escape Charters will give you the opportunity to fish for many different reef species, and as you return to the dock, the trolling lures will once again be set up to hopefully catch a couple of last bites. When you arrive at the dock, your deckhand will unload and hang your fish for pictures, which the crew will fillet and bag it for your enjoyment!

6hr Red Snapper trip
6 Hour Trip – Red Snapper (PM) on August 4, 2024
This charter was great! Capt Will and George are super nice, down to earth guys and very professional. We did the 6hr snapper trip- caught our limit of red snapper and trigger fish. George was always right there getting fish off the hooks and rebaiting our lines. At times we were reeling in 3-4 fish at once. Capt Will told us how deep to drop and we had fish on in less than a minute. Lots of action and very fun trip! This was my son’s first deep sea fishing trip and he loved it. The boat is top notch and inside ac was nice and cool, although we stayed outside the entire trip. Great Escape charter is who we’ll be going with on our future fishing trips. Limited out! On Red Snapper!!
6 Hour Trip – Red Snapper (AM) on June 26, 2024
Would highly recommend Great Escapes. Will and George are excellent! Brought us to the spots, knew the depths to be and we quickly limited out on Red Snapper. Went on to catch Spanish Mackerel and King Fish. Plenty of room for our group of 4 (Would venture to say larger groups would find the same). Only recommendation I'd have for having a better trip has nothing to do with Great Escapes, but our decision not to take motion sickness medicine. If you don't know how you'll fair, I'd recommend taking before you go. Still great trip! Great fishing! And great guys!! Thanks again

Holy Mackerel! So many mackerels!
4 Hour Trip – Trolling (PM) on October 10, 2024
We booked a 4 hour charter with captain Will and his first mate George. They kept us on the fish as we were trolling. Ended up filling a cooler with several Spanish Mackerels and three pretty good sized King Mackerels. The Kings fought but those Spanish Mackerels all but swam to the boat with the exception of a couple of em. All in all, great first trip out with these guys. My family enjoyed it with the exception of my 12 year old daughter. She's just not into fishing for some reason. The boat has a couch that she pretty much stayed on the whole time. It was fine. She put her headphones on and just jammed her tunes while her mom and 10 year old brother enjoyed the trip out on the water. We ran 3 lines out behind the boat. 2 we're essentially the same setup with a 3rd bigger jig running out further behind the boat. It didn't even budge. Fish just didn't like it for some reason. The other 2 jigs lost their color they got hit so much!

A Great Trip
6 Hour Trip – Bottom/Trolling (PM) on July 17, 2024
Given our inexperience, we really didn’t know what to expect. We did a six-hour trip. There was Capitan Will Owens, who appeared to have extensive experience. He stayed in the Tower to drive the boat, locate the fishing spots, watch for dolphin activity while over the fishing locations, and direct George, the First Mate, when things got really busy fishing. He was excellent in finding the red snapper by use of his GPS and fish finder. When the dolphins would show up, he would evaluate when to exit that location for the next one. FYI, the dolphins would take hooked fish and cause the fish in the water to compress down to the artificial reef and focus on survival instead of eating. George (First Mate) also did a great job. He would be very busy when the fish were biting, and things could get chaotic. Sometimes, we would hook a fish within a minute of dropping the lines. Likely, we caught 30-plus fish and were able to keep 9 of them (they have to be over 16” in length). On our way back to shore, the A/C went out. They were very diligent in working to repair it within 15 minutes.

Captain and deck hand were great, Captain put us on the fish and we caught the max allowed of vermillion snapper and the deck hand was right there taking care of us. They are very personable and engaging, we had a fabulous trip and would definitely recommend them!
