Captain Pete Wallace has been fishing here for more than 25 years and knows these waters like the back of his hand. He welcomes anglers of all ages and skill levels and will do his best to show you what makes fishing around here so great.
His boat is a 24’ Carolina Skiff that runs on a single 140 HP Suzuki engine and will get you to the fishing grounds in no time. It has a canopy top that will keep you in the shade and a seating area where you can catch your breath and relax. There’s enough room on the boat for up to 6 anglers, so be sure to bring along the rest of the family for the trip.
Fishing for Sharks is Capt. Pete’s specialty, but there are plenty of other species in the sea that you can find. These include Flounder, kingfish, Spanish mackerel, and plenty more. Most of the time you’ll be bottom fishing, and drifting, but you’re welcome to fly fish if you bring your own fly gear.
Conventional fishing gear and live bait caught during your trip are included in the price. Not only that, but your first mate will clean all your catch after the trip so you don’t have to worry about it later. Come on down and create your own tale with Captain Pete’s Fish Tales!

An Unforgettable Family Adventure on the Water!
Eastern Shore Adventure (AM) on June 3, 2025
Our recent family fishing charter was an absolute highlight of our trip, thanks to the incredible team of Captain Andrew and First Mate Garrett. From start to finish, they guided us through a day packed with fun, learning, and plenty of fresh seafood! Captain Andrew and Garrett were both incredibly knowledgeable and patient, especially with our 4-year-old son. They made sure everyone felt comfortable and engaged throughout the entire day. One of the most unique and enjoyable parts of our charter was the time we spent on the sandbar digging for clams. They even thoughtfully provided socks for my husband, our sons, and me, which was a huge plus and made the experience even more comfortable. Our little guy (4yo) had an absolute blast exploring the sandbar, happily discovering periwinkles and hermit crabs – it was truly magical to watch his excitement. After our sandbar adventure, we moved on to fishing, and then had the added bonus of picking up crabs from their crab pots. Our haul was fantastic: two large buckets brimming with fresh clams and about 25 crabs! Beyond the incredible experience on the water, Andrew and Garrett went above and beyond by providing invaluable advice on how to cook and process our catch so we could bring it all the way back to Pennsylvania to share with our family. This thoughtful touch truly made our charter an all-inclusive and memorable experience. We highly recommend this family fishing charter package to anyone looking for a fun, educational, and delicious day out on the water. Andrew and Garrett are a fantastic team, and we can't wait to book with them again!

4 Hour Trip – Private (PM) on June 20, 2025
We had a wonderful time on Fish Tales with Captain Chris. Started off catching lots of spot, getting the hang of things as amateur fishermen! Next, he took us past the wild ponies and out closer to the ocean to fish for whiting and croaker. As soon as we cast out, my husband (who has never fished before) snagged a HUGE red drum. Captain Chris helped us chase the fish down and after a good run my husband was able to get him all the way up. What an amazing memory! We will definitely be back!

We had an amazing fishing trip with Captain Pete's Fish Tales! My 10-year-old son and I had a blast fishing for flounder—we caught several, took a couple home, and learned a lot along the way. The captain was patient, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience fun and memorable. Being out on the water near Chincoteague was beautiful, and spotting dolphins made it even more special. Highly recommend this charter for a great family-friendly fishing adventure!

Tide and temperature are key factors, and it is after all , fishing … Had a great time , Capt. and crew were knowledgeable , friendly and engaging . Capt. Shark fishing with Fish Tales and Chris
Shark Trip – Private (AM) on September 14, 2024
We had a great day with Chris leading the way. Unfortunately, we chose a little late in the season for shark fishing, but Chris was great working with me and my boys. He answered my son's many questions, pointed us in the right direction for tackle, food, and other fishing spots from shore. The fishing was slow, but my son was ecstatic to land a Dusky shark with only a few minutes left in our trip. We were very pleased with our experience and would recommend Fish Tales and Chris to anyone. We will definitely come back, hopefully soon, and earlier in the season. Captain Pete Wallace owns and operates Captain Pete's Fish Tales. He has been working on fishing boats since he was 15 and is now the longest-operating charter captain on Chincoteague Island. Capt. Pete has been fishing in the area for a quarter of a century and chartering for 40 years. Before coming to Chincoteague Island, he also fished the bountiful waters of New Jersey and Florida.
