Captain Hooks Fishing Adventures–Ice Fishing

From mid-December to mid-March, you get the opportunity to hit one of the many lakes in the Oneida or Vilas County and explore their ice fishing potential. Depending on ice conditions, you will either walk or drive (on four wheelers or in trucks) to the best fishing spots.

The captain will either bring a portable heated ice shack or you will go to one of the permanent ones located on the most productive fishing grounds. All shacks have heating, a grill, sonar, and an underwater camera so you will fish in full comfort. Capt. Pat will even drill holes in the ice for you, so you just need to drop your line and wait for the bite.

When it comes to your catch, your main targets are Northern Pike, Crappie, and Walleye and the bite is excellent despite the low temperatures. Your guide will have all the necessary fishing equipment for you, and he’ll even fillet everything for you after the trip.
