Welcome to Kilby Lodge, where dinosaurs are free to swim in the mighty Fraser River! Located in British Columbia's scenic Fraser Valley, this place is internationally recognized as the No. 1 location for Sturgeon and Salmon fishing in the world. The lodge is located on the Harrison River, just 1 km above where the Harrison River meets the Fraser.

Captain Robert runs Sturgeon fishing trips year-round and he knows all the good places to properly anchor and catch the fish. Salmon season is in the fall and there are 5 types of Salmon you could catch – Coho, Chinook, Sockeye, Chum, and Pink. If you're an avid fly fisherman with your own fly fishing gear, you can target Salmon from the banks as well.

You'll be fishing aboard a 22' Thunder Jet boat. This boat accommodates up to 4 anglers and everybody can fish at the same time. She's equipped with Hummingbird navigational equipment and safety gear. There's no minimum age policy and children of all ages are welcome. However, the captain provides life vests for everybody starting from the age of 7, so for younger children, parents should bring their own.

Pickup can be done from Abbotsford airport, which is a 2,5-hour ride and it costs $100. Some expenses depend on whether you're staying at the lodge or not. For example, your fishing license is covered if you're a guest and you also have kayaks free of charge as an additional activity. Meals and snacks are charged extra.

You can request a customized trip that fits your needs, so contact the captain if you're staying at the lodge. The lodge includes a fireplace, a swimming pool, and bedrooms with a private bathroom. Multiday trips are available where you would spend 8-9 hour of fishing per day. You can spend the rest of the day kayaking, or hiking through nature and looking for hidden waterfalls in the area.

Enjoy fishing, kayaking, and swimming with sandy beaches and boat launch steps away from your front door. Book your spot in the Kilby Lodge today!

Fantastic Trip!
Half Day Trip – Salmon/Sturgeon on September 21, 20241 adult1 child

Rob was a fantastic guide and probably the best guide I've fished with to date, and that's saying something. Rob's Lodge is nestled in a perfect location along the Harris River, making it just a short ride to the fishing grounds. My twelve y/o son and I fished with Rob for 4 hours and boated two behemoths, Sturgeon! Rob was very patient with my son and coached him through the reeling process, all the way to landing the fish. Simple and plain, this guide knows his stuff and is by far the best choice (imo) fishing for big Sturgeon. We will definitely be back to fish with Rob in the future! Thanks for the fantastic memories Rob!

Full day of fishing with Captain Robert!
Full Day Trip – Salmon/Sturgeon on September 8, 20234 adults

Robert is very professional. He was fantastic in helping us catch many sturgeons. We caught a 10 footer, two 8 footers and two 7 footers in one day. The only reason we were successful was captain Robert knew where to find the sturgeon, the right bait to use and most importantly how to catch them. He was the best fishing guide I have ever used. The boat and equipment we used was good and the cabin we stayed at was nice. The cabin is located where you launch the boat which made it handy. In my opinion Kilby Lodge and Fishing is the best sturgeon fishing guide and lodging option on the Fraser river.

Captain Robert has been fishing since he was 4 years old - it has always been his passion. He went fishing all around the globe: Europe, Africa, did Catfish fishing in Chernobyl even, Spain, Italy, UK, Belarus. He fell in love with the area and its Sturgeon and spent a lot of time learning about it all. Three years ago, he started up the business here once he moved from Alberta. Sturgeon fishing cannot be compared to anything else. The contact with the clients it's the best thing for him, getting the fish for them and their joy when they are excited. He does this because he loves it, doesn't treat it like work but as a passion and necessity. Every trip is a different experience for him.
