The fish in these waters include Peacock Bass, Largemouth Bass, and other species. If your target is for Clown Knife Fish and Snakeheads let Capt. Jose know he will advise on a location that fishing is best for those species.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. If your group exceeds more than 4 people contact Capt. Jose and he will provide pricing and arrangements. Also remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
Capt. Jose operates a 21' Ranger Bass boat with room for 4 passengers. It is equipped with the latest marine electronics, dual power poles for shallow water anchoring for fishing in the flats. All fishing equipment and tackle is included in your trip except for live bait.
Before coming aboard, it is necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online.
Don't forget to bring sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Fishing with Captain Jose! An Unforgettable Everglades Experience!

We had an amazing day fishing in the Everglades with Captain Jose! As beginner fishermen, we weren’t sure what to expect—but Jose made everything easy, fun, and incredibly rewarding. We caught tons of bass throughout the day, and thanks to his guidance, we felt like pros by the end of the trip! Captain Jose was not only super knowledgeable, but also patient and encouraging. He took the time to show us the ropes, teach us the basics, and made sure we were set up for success. He came prepared with water and drinks to keep us comfortable, and his upbeat attitude made the entire experience even better. Whether you’re new to fishing or a seasoned angler, Captain Jose is the guy you want leading your trip. He knows the Everglades like the back of his hand and knows how to make sure everyone has a great time. Highly recommend—we’ll definitely be back!

My son and I had an absolutely tremendous two-hour afternoon trip with Jose today. Top boat, top equipment, top captain! More bass than we could have hoped for, including a beautiful peacock, which made our day. Booking was easy thanks to Jose’s prompt communication; we actually arrived an hour early, and after a quick text exchange he was there to meet us 20 minutes later! My 13 yr old son and I had our scubadiving charter boat cancel on us due to rough seas. We quickly booked with Jose after seeing he had a nice fiberglass 21ft Ranger bass boat. I caught 9 largemouth and my son caught 15 using artificial bait in 2 hrs. His boat is very nice and well kept, with new state of the art Garmin electronics. We had a great time fishing with Jose. I would recommend him for your fishing adventures in South Florida.

Captain Jose knows the perfect places for you to catch beautiful fish and have an unforgettable day. He patiently explains the weighing techniques and is an excellent person. We were able to see beautiful alligators, various birds and my children were happy. 100 percent recommended. It is an experience that we will surely repeat.

I’m Capt Jose Carbonell, grew up here in South Florida and have been fishing the canals and lakes since I was 8yrs old. Since then I’ve grown to become a very passionate angler and take great pleasure in becoming a full time guide this year. I enjoy teaching people new techniques and also learn from those that may have a different style of fishing, as the evolution of fishing is constantly changing and growing. I am also a competitive Bass Tournament angler on a semipro level. I specialize in Peacock Bass, Bulls Eye Snake Heads and other exotic species. My boat is a Stratos 201 Pro Elite equipped with the latest Garmin electronics and Panoptics transducer, 80lb thrust Minn Kota Trolling motor with weed cutter, twin red 8’power poles and powered with a 2020 Yamaha 250hp SHO.

Having children on board is absolutely one of my favorite trips! Depending on his or hers age you may have to bring their own life jacket. I really enjoy teaching them techniques and how to be a better angler. Seeing them catch a new PB price priceless!
