Operating out of Lorain, Ohio, Reel Eyez Sportfishing is inviting anglers looking for a fun and productive day on Lake Erie to join one of their trips. Captain Mike Hluszti has been fishing the lake for decades and is knowledgeable about the local fishery. He’ll know which spots to visit and which techniques to employ to produce the best results for his guests.

Your vessel for the trip will be a 30ft Baha boat, powered by a 340 HP 454 Volvo engine. Although it’s not the boat’s max capacity, Captain Mike takes up to 6 people fishing in order to ensure everyone’s comfort on the trip. On board, you’ll find a separate restroom below and all the necessary safety and first aid equipment on board. Additional equipment includes 3 GPS units, 3 fish locators, and 1 radar unit to put you on the fish as fast as possible.

Captain Mike invites anglers of all skill levels to join him on the water. He enjoys teaching novice anglers and kids how to fish better and finds it rewarding to see them put those skills to use right away. Young ones joining in on the trips need to be 8 years old with a guardian and will be provided with the appropriate life jackets.

Reel Eyes Sportfishing specializes in catching Walleye and will equip all guests with the best gear for the task. You’ll be using Daiwa Rods and Reels as gear, as well as stick bait lures, spoons and worm harnesses for lures. If you’re using live bait, it will also be supplied and is always included in the price.

You’ll only need to bring a valid fishing license, which can be purchased online, snacks, and drinks. The captain asks for all guests to show up at the meetup spot 10-15 minutes prior to departure. Parking is free and there are several convenience stores that open early, within a mile of the boat ramp.

So if you’re ready for a trip up north and are already getting excited imagining your next great catch at the Great Lakes, check the captain’s calendar and book a trip right away!
