CL Guide Service and Captain Gabe invites you down to North Padre island to explore some of the best inshore spots in the area and experience the unique flair of South Texas. Whether you’re in search of some great eating fish or just want to catch some big Reds on a fly, look no further! The captain lives and breathes South Texas and will take you around all the best spots he’s discovered on his countless adventures.
Your boat for the trip will be a 20’ Everglades bay boat, powered by a 150 HP Yamaha outboard. The boat has been restored in 2017 and comes equipped with onboard electronic systems for navigation and communication as well as a fishfinder to help you locate schooling fish. The vessel is also equipped with all the necessary safety equipment as well as an icebox and live bait tanks.
The captain will provide you with all the necessary fishing gear for the trip including Penn spinning reels and Shimano baitcasters. For fly fishing trips you can either bring your own equipment or have him bring it for you. Any live bait you may need for the trip will also be taken care of by the captain ahead of the trip. You’ll be able to try your hand at different techniques including drift fishing, jig fishing, and using a popping cork for Speckled Trout and Redfish.
The things you should bring are a small or medium-sized cooler with your choice of drinks and snacks, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat. After you’ve checked off those items, you’ll be ready to come and start your next adventure!
