If you want to explore the waters of world-famous Chesapeake Bay, make sure that a trip with Islander Sportfishing is at the top of your “To-do” list! Departing out of Hampton, Virginia, this first-class charter service provides direct access to the bay’s hottest fishing spots. Even better? You’ll be joined on your trip by Captain George Trice, who grew up on these waters. Guided by his local tips, tricks, and knowledge, you’ll embark on an unforgettable adventure!
Capt. George has spent over 2 decades fishing the waters of Chesapeake Bay for anything from Speckled Trout to Bull Redfish to tasty Flounder. Driven by his wish to help others fall in love with the magic of fishing, he opened his very own charter business in 2016 and hasn’t looked back since. Whether you’re a newbie learning the ropes, or an expert-level angler dreaming of fishing the bay, Capt. George can’t wait to welcome you on board.
Capt. George offers a wide range of trips in this area, ranging from shorter inshore adventures to full day bay excursions. You’ll be fishing from his classic 27’ Newton center console, built to accommodate up to 4 guests. You’ll all be able to cast off at the same time, unless you’re side-casting for Cobia or Black Drum. This vessel is decked out with all the necessary safety and navigational gear. Little ones are welcome aboard, and your captain will provide life jackets.
When it comes to the fishing on offer, there’s a reason why Chesapeake Bay is known around the world for its fishery. You’ll have the chance to target delicious Flounder, Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Sheepshead, as well as feisty Cobia and more, depending on the season. Your captain will show you the best techniques to use, and you’ll also be joined by a friendly and helpful first mate, who works for 20% gratuity.
You’ll be provided with rods, reels, bait, tackle, and a fishing license, so all that’s left is to join Islander Sportfishing to see the very best that Chesapeake Bay has to offer!
