Captain Mike has over 30 years of experience and his dream has always been to show the best sides of this sport to other people. He fulfilled his dream and gets to share fishing adventures with other people every day.
You’ll be fishing on a 16’ Alumaweld drift boat that accommodates up to 3 anglers. As soon as you get on the boat, you’re practically on your fishing spot, so there’s no need for engines and long boat rides. Start fishing immediately, and use your time to the max!
Capt. Mike will show you several fishing techniques, including spinning, drift fishing, and jigging. These are all very effective, and yet easy to learn if you’re new to this sport. You’ll go after Steelhead, and 3 types of Salmon - Chum, Chinook, and Coho. You get to keep the catch and you’ll also get it cleaned! Capt. Mike will fillet your fish, so just bring a small cooler to keep the fish fresh.
Your fishing equipment is fully covered and included in the price. You only need to purchase your fishing license in advance and bring some snacks and drinks.

Full day trip with Captn Mike
Made a trip from Spokane Washington November 22. Little nervous with the amount of rain that the Humptulip had received recently. Captain Mike made every effort possible to put us on the fish considering the high water levels . Despite unfavorable conditions Mike put us on many fish, and limited on big Coho before the day was over. This is a Guide who actually cares about his clients. Mike stayed out for a full day where other guides would have called it early and that’s why I ended up with a 12 and 18 pound Coho. Captn Mike is the type of guide you hope for when making an investment for a fantastic experience Thanks again Mike !

Full day trip w Capt Mike
My Son and I were fortunate enough to schedule a trip w Capt Mike. I felt like it would be a good trip, even before arrival, as he was quite helpful in getting a few pre trip details covered. We decided to arrive a half hour earlier, as he had a feeling that the river might be a bit crowded on a Saturday and after some big rain storms. He was correct. And he knew exactly where to get us on the river. Mike had my Son on his first fish literally within minutes. He had him on a second fish within 10 mins of his first one. We had seven fish landed in the first few hours of the AM. Mike was great with suggestions for technique. He definitely made it clear that he was there to ensure we had an awesome day of stress free fishing. And we did. More fish were landed throughout the day. Mike always had another set up, ready to go, if any snags or hassle presented themselves. He shared tons of knowledge w my Son and I. We learned a great deal from our day w Mike. I would highly recommend his services to anyone, at any level of fishing. I’m sure he has the skills to help anyone improve their fishing game, while feeling safe on the water. We’ll be back to learn more from him in the near future.

Full Day Salmon Slammin Success
Our experience with Big Fish and Captain Mike was amazing. He was able to reschedule us without a hassle and was easy to communicate with. He clearly has all the experience it takes and knowledge about the river to find and catch fish quickly. He kept us actively finding and fighting fish all day even though we could have caught our limit within the first hour. He took his time to teach us both some valuable fishing techniques, and was as patient as one could be with a 12-year-old boy. We will be fishing with Big Fish again soon~
