Fly fishing in western Serbia, on the rivers Rzav and Djetinja is not an ordinary fishing tour. Fishing in these locations is also a ticket to pristine nature, clear water, and breathtaking mountains. It’s the exploration of lesser-known spots, that even some locals don’t know of. That’s why you need an experienced guide on this trip. Look no further than Tihomir Lukic.
Tihomir is an expert in fly fishing – he’s a member of Serbian national team and a current state champion. He’s always ready to share his knowledge and expertise with his guests, so all skill levels are welcome. Even if you’ve never held a rod in your hand before, you’ll learn how to fish here.
Since he’s located in Belgrade, your journey starts there – he’ll pick you up from the location you agree upon and you’ll go together to Uzice, the city closest to your fishing spots. Here you can find accommodation, which Tihomir can recommend, just tell him if you’re interested in ethno-style place near the river, or something modern in the city.
In clean rivers and streams of the area, you’ll mostly target different types of Trout, Grayling, Hucho, and other Salmonidae species. You’ll spend at least 8 hours of fishing, depending on your preference.
You’ll need to bring your own fly fishing equipment or rent it before the trip. Tihomir makes his own flies and he can give you a couple for free until you choose the ones that suit you best. After that, they cost 1,20 euros per fly. Bring your food and drinks, and don’t forget your fishing license (10 euros per day). Since you’ll be wade fishing, make sure to bring proper clothes.
