Breakwater Charters 

We had an awesome time on the 8-hour trip with Breakwater Charter. Captain Ashley and Logan were both great and made the whole day a lot of fun. Ashley did a great job getting us on the fish, and Logan was constantly helping out, keeping things moving, and making sure everyone was taken care of. They were both easygoing, knowledgeable, and just genuinely good people to spend the day with. We had a blast and would absolutely book with them again. If you’re looking for a great charter with a crew that knows what they’re doing and makes the trip fun, I’d definitely recommend Breakwater Charter.

Fished with Capt. Ashely about 4 years ago and booked a second charter with him last week - 3/4 day nearshore. The night before, he texted me to ask if I could arrive an hour earlier since the day before the Spanish Mackerel were biting around that time. In total, caught 20 fish, mostly good size Spanish, in about 3.5 hours. Took a break and switched to shark fishing, which I had never done before. Caught 4 altogether (two were very young). Took pics and tossed then back in the ocean. They are fighters on the line and the experience was great. The mate was attentive and super helpful - made the trip a first-class charter. I definitely will book another trip with Breakwater whenever I get back to the Crystal Coast.

Captain Ashley and Mate Logan were awesome. My son and I booked a full day trip for June 20, 2026. A major storm blew in the day before that lasted untill late evening on the 19th. We arrived at the Marine at our designated time and were greeted by both the captain and mate. After introductions we headed out to the promise land about 50-60 miles. Seas were a little choppy on way out. The captain made it as smooth as possible and in good time. Within about 30 minutes of fishing I caught my first Mahi Mahi. My son caught his about 45 minutes later. We caught 3 Mahi and checked off the bucket list. They both worked really hard trying to help us catch more but sometimes fish just don’t want to bite. So we moved on to another spot to catch V-liners ala Vermillion snapper. That was a workout as they hit hard and fight hard. We ended up catching our limit of those with a few extra other fish like sea bass and trigger fish. My son and I are thankful and very happy with how the day went Post Storm. We will do again when we can.

I took my parents, brother and nephew fishing offshore for their first time. Captain Ashely and first mate Logan made the experience a memorable one. We caught all varieties of fish including snapper, mahi, mackerel, amberjack and albacore tuna. Overall very excellent time and would highly recommend for anyone looking for a charter in Morehead City!

One of the best trips I’ve been on! Took my 17y/o son (his birthday trip) and his friend! Lots of reeling and laughing! Captain Ashley, Logan and the mate in triaing were all amazing!! Finally found a crew/boat that we want to go out with every year! Tuna and mahi to put in the freezer!

Captain Ashley and First Mate Logan were exceptional. Th boat and equipment were the best. The weather was perfect and we caught fish - Dorado, Mahi and Wahoo. Definitely will go again with this crew and boat.

Man what a trip! I have been on several trips with Captain Ashley. Dude knows the area and where the fish are. We went out for a full day gulf stream trip and Captain and Mate (Logan), btw that dude was by far the best Mate I've ever experienced, were both on time present abd jad the boat stocked and ready to go upon our arrival at 530am. Now, let me get to the experience, we caught 16 Dolphins, 1 sailfish that was released out; but Logan raised that flag like a proud Papa, 3 Blackfin Tuna, 4 Barricudas, and 1 Wahoo. This Charter is awesome and very inviting with how they made us all feel at home. Would highly recommend as we will be back for as long as Captain Ashley and his Team keep providing these memories. Thanks again Ashley and Logan!!!!

Overall a good trip. The goal was to get a BlueFin but none wanted to play. Captain Ashley did a great job to ensure we had a good day to fish. He was very flexible with his schedule and got the day we wanted. His operation is very professional. Both him and his first mate were very knowledgeable about fishing and the area. His first mate was first class. He ensured we had the right tools for the job and passed on knowledge to me and my son which will help when I fish. As for the boat, it was top notch. Great ride and very roomy if you need a rest. We were able to put fish in the boat even though it was not a BlueFin. We will sure fish with them again if the opportunity arises. FISH ON!!

We had a blast fishing with Captain Ashley and his First Mate Logan! Very relaxing and so much fun reeling in the fish! Can’t wait to go back out again with him! Logan did an awesome job keeping everything going with the rods, getting our fish off the hooks, and cleaning them. Thanks so much for an amazing day!!
