The Pacific Northwest has a lot to offer to passionate anglers and Best Seattle Fishing knows that better than anyone! Team up with Best Seattle Fishing and they will use their years of experience to find you some solid fishing action.
Your guide makes it his mission to organize a trip that will not only be productive but also fun and memorable. Take your pick between 4- and 6-hour trips and hit the water anytime from January to mid-March to find the best bite.
At this time of year, King (Chinook) Salmon reigns supreme in the Seattle waters, as well as Blackmouth (juvenile) Salmon and Steelhead. Puget Sound is one of the well-known spots for targeting these silvery acrobats, and that’s exactly where your guide will take you. He will provide all the necessary equipment, including quality Shimano reels and Okuma rods.
You’ll be casting your line out of a 26’ aluminum fisher that has plenty of room to accommodate up to 6 people. The boat is rigged with a 260 HP Volvo Penta engine which makes it stable and fast on different bodies of water. You’ll mostly do trolling and mooching, depending on what works best in the current fishing conditions.
When you’re not reeling in your catch, you might spot seals and whales in the distance, which is always a great bonus. When you come back to land, Capt. Cary will clean and fillet the fish for you, which means you can have a Salmon feast as soon as you come home.
To prepare for your expedition, you’ll need to buy a fishing license, and dress warmly, preferably in layers. It’s recommended to bring rain gear because the weather can turn mid-trip, and you don’t want to be caught unawares. Your guide will have some snacks and water on board, but you’re welcome to bring your own as well.
If you’re coming with your little ones, it’s best that they’re 7 and older, that way they can actively participate and learn how to catch fish.
With Best Seattle Fishing, you get to experience just how enjoyable Salmon fishing can be!

Very knowledgeable about the types of salmon & their behavior, places to find them and what/when they eat, how to hook and reel in and bring to net. Excellent directions and assistance as needed for dads/uncles aged 46-77, And daughters/nieces, ages 12-38 experience zero to ~10 charter trips. Captain Cary was pleasant, explained and instructed at the right level for each and without any condescension to the youngest or oldest. Remembered each person’s name. Oh , yes we did catch fish. I think 4 cohos and 2 legal kings were kept. Three wild kings, 3 dogfish and one little flounder were released. Excellent service, plenty of action, well cut filets to bring home. Everybody enjoyed the trip. Thank you Captain Cary!

Special 4 hour trip for Sue Lentz on September 22, 2024
We had a great time on our Seattle's Best Charter trip. We were probably one of Capt Cary's more unlikely charter groups--novices with a capital "N"--but we couldn't have had a better trip. We caught our limits, learned a lot about our Puget Sound fishery, and enjoyed the amazing scenery on a beautiful morning. Capt Cary was very accommodating of our member with disabilities and a man who loves what he does. He's great! We're already planning another trip with Capt Cary next summer. A+

Captain Sean took the four of us out for a great morning of fishing. Boat was Modern and comfortable (We generally charter once a year, and this is a significant care about for us.) We saw Orcas, and landed fish within the first hour. Sean was knowledgeable and kept us busy the entire time. Would highly recommend.

Captain Cary took us 3 newbies out for my grandson's thirteenth birthday and we all limited with 2 Coho apiece! Cary has a great sense of humor and is just comfortable to hang out with. We had a great afternoon on his boat and would recommend him to everyone, including kids and newbies like us.

Captain Cary Hofmann has been fishing ever since he can remember, and his passion took him Salmon fishing all over the Pacific Northwest. After a while, he decided to turn this enthusiasm into a calling and so he became a charter captain in 2013. Capt. Cary loves talking about everything fish-related, and always tries his best to teach his customers something new.
