If you’re up for some fun on Hawaiian waters off the coast of the island of Kauai, join Makai Sportfishing charters for an authentic experience! Captain Sean Lawrence, a passionate scuba diver and Captain Rob, an experienced fisherman who grew up on the water, are the charter owners. They’ll make sure you have an unforgettable time.
Come fishing on their 42’ Uniflite motor yacht, powered by a twin 310 HP Detroit engine. It’s a comfortable boat that can accommodate up to 6 people for a day outdoors. There’s a toilet and a shower on board for your convenience, as well as air conditioning and a multimedia system to make your day that much more enjoyable.
You’ll fish using Penn and Shimano rods and reels provided by the crew, and you’re free to take home any fish under 40 lb. The crew takes the bigger ones to the market. You’ll be using live bait caught on the trip, or dead bait bought before. Capt. Robert will be happy to clean your catch for you to have an enjoyable dinner.
Depending on the season, you’ll target the main pelagic fish – Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Wahoo, Marlin, and Amberjack, and whatever else is willing to bite along the way, including Giant Trevally and Rainbow runner. Your crew will make sure to take you to the richest fishing grounds to maximize your chances of reeling in some monsters!
Kids older than 4 are welcome on board, so you can have some family time and make great memories on your vacation. There are life jackets in all sizes, so safety is a priority. Fishing licenses are provided, as well as a cooler for fish and drinks, and you’re welcome to bring your own food and snacks.

Great Crew and Big Catches!
We had an amazing experience on our fishing charter with Captain Rob and his fantastic crew, Chase and Mano (or Mono—sorry if I got that wrong!). From start to finish, the team was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel welcome. It was a shared charter, but they made sure every guest got to be hands-on and truly part of the action. We spent 6 hours trolling and ended up catching 2 big yellowfin tunas (ahi), 2 skipjack (aku), and even caught and released a beautiful blue marlin (kajiki). The captain let us take home the aku, while the ahi went to market. Such an unforgettable day on the water, can’t recommend this crew enough!

Fantastic crew, even better fish!
We have done fishing trips all over the world and Captain Rob, Sean, and Chase were by far one of the best crews my family has ever experienced! They were kind, professional, personable, and well educated. Not only did we catch some Mahi Mahi and Skipjack Tuna (that we tried as soon as we caught it), they also regaled us with stories and knowledge about the island they call home! They helped my 80 year old grandmother comfortably around the boat so she could watch us fish, and worked with my dad to reel in some tuna! Six hours of jokes and good energy, you truly couldn’t ask for a better team! 10/10

Best Fishing Chater Hands Down!
Went out with Sean, Rob and Mana. Had the absolute best day fishing with these guys. My girlfriend Aubrey and I had and absolute blast. They were super accommodating, we caught 2 slipjack tunas, a yahoo, and a close to 300 hundred pound marlin in the rain between the 6 people on the boat! Will be a tough day to beat on the water, but we will spend a lifetime trying too! Book this trip!!

Captain Rob and his Deck hand Sean knew exactly where to go fishing for my Trophy fish!I was on a six hour charter.and we caught 2 skipjack tunas and the last hour we caught at 85 inch Blue Marlin 💙 I totally Recommend if you want an amazing time "Makai Sport "fishing charter" is is the One for You!!!
