Get ready to track down and catch some big fish with Heavy Hitter Charters! Your captain for the day, Benny Hendrix, is a Florida native with decades of experience fishing the local waters of Fernandina Beach. So if you’re in search of an action-packed adventure with a knowledgable guide who can put you on fish, you’ve come to the right spot.

You’ll be fishing off of a 25' C-Hawk center console. This boat comes with top-of-the-line fishing gear, electronics, and safety equipment, and is perfect for navigating through shallow waters. She accommodates up to 6 passengers
guests and children of all ages are welcome aboard.

Capt. Benny specializes in inshore fishing – targeting Redfish, Black Drum, Spotted Seatrout, Sheepshead, and Tarpon. You’ll explore the backwaters of Fernandina Beach, fishing structures such as jetties and docks, as well as grass beds and oyster bars. Other target species include Flounder and various inshore Shark species such as Blacktip and Bonnethead.

If the weather allows, Capt. Benny also takes his customers out into deeper waters to go after Snapper, Bluefish, Kingfish, and other species that inhabit nearshore waters. No matter your skill level, Capt, Benny will work hard to put you in the right place at the right time and make sure you’re having a great time on the water.

Top-quality Daiwa rods and reels are available on board. You’ll also be provided with artificial lures, as well as live and cut bait, all included in the price. Your fishing license is also covered, so you can come straight to the pick-up location, and the rest will be taken care of.

Great time and lots of fish!!!

Early 3 hour beat the Heat on October 17, 2025 • 3 adults

We had an amazing day on the water with Captain Benny! Our group of three—including our 13-year-old son—had an absolute blast. Captain Benny was friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. He not only helped us catch a ton of fish (some really big ones that gave us a great fight!) but also pointed out interesting local landmarks and shared cool facts about the area along the way. We’ve done other charters before, but Captain Benny really stood out by going the extra mile. He took tons of great photos throughout the trip, so we could focus on fishing and having fun. Even better, we had all the pictures before we even got back to the dock! He also put a special emphasis on our safety and comfort the entire time, which made the whole experience feel effortless and enjoyable. The trip was fun, relaxed, and memorable from start to finish. Highly recommend booking with Captain Benny if you’re looking for a great inshore fishing adventure! We will definitely be fishing with Captain Benny again when we have the chance to return to Amelia Island!

Absolutely Incredible Morning with Captain Benny!

We booked a 3-hour morning charter with Captain Benny of Heavy Hitters out of Amelia Island, and it was one of the best fishing trips we’ve ever had! From start to finish, it was action-packed, exciting, and downright fun. Everyone in our group caught fish—lots of them! We reeled in bonnethead sharks, Atlantic sharpnose sharks, and even landed a massive 100-pound dusky shark that gave us a real battle. That alone made the trip unforgettable! On top of the shark action, we also caught plenty of whiting, sail catfish, yellowmouth trout, and more. There was never a dull moment—lines were tight almost the entire time! Captain Benny was outstanding—knowledgeable, upbeat, and incredibly passionate about what he does. He knew exactly where to go, kept us safe, and made sure everyone had a great time, whether it was their first fishing trip or their fiftieth. You can tell he genuinely loves putting people on fish. If you're anywhere near Amelia Island and looking for a fishing trip you’ll be talking about for years, Heavy Hitters with Captain Benny is the way to go. Can’t wait to come back and do it again!

Benny is super awesome to charter your fishing trip! Our kids caught shark one each a so amazing ! They want to come back just for that experience in itself ! Benny didn’t hesitate to make sure we all caught something and we caught something as soon as our lines dropped ! He knows where to go ! He’s done it for 32 years so you can imagine he knows how to navigate to those best fishing places - and added a little sight seeing too ! Fort Clinch. We ended up upgrading to 4 hours - and we loved it ! Enjoy your fishing - with Benny !

A Captain Hendrix trip is one you shouldn’t miss! His boat is perfect for 6 anglers- plenty of room and exceptional well kept. He had bait ready to roll (so many times I’ve spent the first 30-45 minutes watching the captain or crew catch bait). He is so professional not only in his fishing skills but in his interaction with family/children- very respectful, patient and kind. He’s been fishing his whole life so whether you’re an experienced angler or this is your first time, stop looking and book Benny Hendrix

weather was iffy but we wanted to go. Captain Benny assured us we would have a great time and we did! he was a wonderful tour guide as well which was an unexpected surprise! Kids caught a ton of fish and had a wonderful morning on the water Will definitely book again when we come back
