Dana Point Custom Fishing Charters offers tailored trips to best fit your wishes. If you’d like to fish and dive, or simply fish and relax, the crew can accommodate your needs. They can also take you to Catalina Island or stay inshore and watch Giant Whales travel along the coast of California on their way to Baja Mexico.
Captain Nick Miraglia has been licensed with the U.S. Coast Guard for the last 20 years. He fished on private vessels from Alaska, along the California coast to Mexico, and through the Panama Canal. He also skippered off the corner coast in Hawaii for 18 years.
Join Capt. Nick on his 39’ Luhrs. This spacious boat offers an air-conditioned cabin, two fighting chairs and a first-class tackle for catching big fish. The spacious interior sleeps 4–6 guests, with easy access to the flybridge via a molded staircase that seats 6 people. You’ll enjoy this boat even if catching fish is not your priority.
Even if you’re a novice, you can catch the main prize! Capt. Nick has had over two dozen first-timers catch their first Marlin. Your adventure can be anything, from kite fishing for Bluefin off San Clemente Island, trolling for Marlin on all the high spots, to patty-hopping for Yellowtail, Dorado and Yellowfin Tuna. Or just fishing at Catalina for White Sea Bass. You can customize your trip for whatever you want to fish.
Your fishing equipment is fully covered and they’ll also provide you with soft drinks and snacks. The crew will clean your catch, so you can look forward to a tasty meal!

If the Captain does not respond to your inquiry right away, he is most likely on the fishing trip and will respond to you as soon as he is back.
SPECIAL NOTE: On July 1st and September 2nd, by California law, a fishing license isn’t required for trips.

Captain Nick is great!
Highly recommend booking a trip with Captain Nick! This was a once in a lifetime experience with my son on vacation from Arizona. We ocean fish about every other year which makes it a special occasion. We have been with big groups before and this was our first private boat. We will never go back to the big groups again!

Capt. NICK and Boat was great...
Capt Nick and mate Jim made it an outstanding day. Phenomenal service and support woth bait and rods. We caught lots and lots of fish. The boat has a nice fish finder that displays on TV in cabin and can be viewed from cockpit. Great day.

Reel Success: An Unforgettable Day at Sea
My son's 16th birthday wish was to catch a fish. This was our first time with Captain Nick and Captain Glen and we caught a lot fish . We learned how to find the fish, fillet the fish, and later we cooked the fish at home. What a day we even saw a whale, sea lions, pelicans, and lots of sea gulls. It was so much fun. We are planning our next birthday fishing trip with them.

Highly recommend!
Excellent fishing charter! We are a family of 5, with kids ages 7-11, we had a wonderful time fishing and learning about the local fish and wildlife. Captain Nick and his deckhand Patrick know their stuff, they took us to the perfect spot for fishing, we caught 11 fish, the kids were ecstatic! We also found a pod of dolphins feeding and even spotted a whale. Many great memories were made!!

We are very pleased with our first Off-shore fishing experience. Cpt. Nick and deckhand Glen knew what they were doing at it showed. They were patient and explained what we needed to do and when.
