Immerse yourself in the wilderness of Everglades National Park. Captain Paul is a 3rd generation Miami native. He has been fishing these waters since 1997 and professionally guiding since 2018. Guiding out of Flamingo; he understands the backwaters of the Everglades like only a few do.

Your vessel for the day is a 17’ Seastrike, perfect for two anglers but capable of accommodating a third for an extra fee. Depending on wind and tides, Captain Paul brings along his 17’ canoe in the boat. The canoe accommodates 2 anglers plus the captain and allows for stealthy hunting of snook, redfish, and tarpon in shallow water.

Inshore fishing in the Everglades is an unforgettable experience. Hunting snook and redfish through the labyrinths of dark mangrove shorelines, or seeing a tarpon breach on a still foggy morning can invoke a sense of true adventure and enchantment. Rods, licenses, and tackle are all provided. All you have to do is make it to the town of Flamingo (45 min drive from Homestead, 90 mins from Key Largo).

Captain Paul is a catch-and-release guide. He believes in conservation and responsible stewardship of the park’s resources. He’s a member of Captains For Clean Water, and Bonefish Tarpon Trust. He encourages all his clients to get involved in protecting this world class fishery.

The captain works hard to make sure you have a good time and if you enjoy the trip, a 20% tip is customary. Also customary is the Florida Keys tradition of providing lunch for your guide. Other items you’ll need are some polarized glasses, bugspray, and sunscreen to stave off the Florida sun.

In addition, Captain Paul offers overnight camping/fishing experiences. He cooks all your meals, campsite set-up, and guides you to fish during the day. Talk to Paul about this immersive experience.

Whether you’re spending a day in the Everglades or camping overnight, Captain Paul wants to make your fishing trip a memorable one! Book today and prepare for an unforgettable experience

Exploring Everglades National Park for the day? Want to try something new? This tour allows you to see parts of the park you wouldn't otherwise see from land. The captain brings along his fishing gear just in case there's something biting nearby but mostly this trip is about seeing nature. On the trip, you might see crocodiles, ospreys, porpoises, Manatees, and more! For more serious angler-oriented trips, Capt. Paul recommends a full day trip if you have the time.

These trips leave around sunrise and return around 11:00am. Five-hour trips are popular but with the effort it takes to get to Flamingo, Captain Paul believes most clients prefer the full day experience. Sometimes the fishing is tough and the extra time available on a full day increases the chances of getting on a good bite. For this reason, Captain Paul encourages his clients to book 8-hour trips for the best experience and most fishing time.

Sunrise to around 4:00 p.m. - Full days allow you to run far, fish less-pressured waters, and get in tune with what the fish are doing that day. Just remember to message Capt. Paul before booking about what your ideal day would look like; What fish would you like to target, quantity over quality, are you interested in sight fishing, are you able to fish out of a canoe? What level of experience do you have fishing? All these are helpful in putting together a one-of-a-kind, enjoyable and successful trip.

This trip is all about hunting the fish, seeing it, making the cast, and watching the fish eat. โ€“ Redfish, Snook, Bonefish, and Tarpon. Paul's canoe allows you to quietly approach and stalk these fish in very shallow water. If you've never sight fished before on fly or spinning tackle, make sure to let Capt. Paul know so he can give you some exercises to practice before your trip. This is by far the best type of fishing according to Capt. Paul. A comfortable pair of polarized glasses is a necessity.

These trips are the captain's favorite. If you are interested in fly fishing for Snook, Tarpon, or Redfish, this is the best trip to guarantee success. The spin fishing on these trips is amazing as well. The no-motor zones require fishing from a canoe. The captain's canoe is stable enough for you to stand in, 17' long, and can hold two people plus the captain. He uses his Seastrike Skiff as a mothership and deploys the canoe off the boat. These trips are limited to two anglers.

The Everglades is a unique place to camp and fish. On this multi-day trip, you will be camping on a beach or on a Chickee platform. Your tent, food, and fishing equipment are all supplied. The captain will supply you with a list of gear to bring. The cost for these trips is a regular full day of fishing plus food, permitting, supplies, etc. The length of the trip and the number of guests in the group will determine the price, so contact Capt. Paul for a more accurate trip cost.

My grandfather moved to Florida from Washington D.C. in the 1960s and fished the Keys and the Everglades for decades. When I was younger he would take me out of school to go fishing with him. I cherished every moment I got to spend with him. In 2014 he passed away and I was determined to keep the fishing legacy in the family. I worked hard to get my captain's license and spent as much time on the water as I could. Every time I travel to the Everglades I remember my grandfather and the memories we shared together. To me, fishing is more than just recreation or sport, it's a chance to reconnect with my dad and grandpa, revisiting memories of wonderful times spent together outdoors. My goal for everyone I fish with is that they would come away from the experience with more than just a big fish or nice story and cool pictures. My desire is that they make life-lasting memories with their families in one of the greatest places on earth; the Everglades.

Fishing has been hit. or miss lately. Some times we've been grinding it out all day just trying to get a bite and the very next day it could be a 50+ fish day. It's wild! That's wintertime fishing in the Everglades though. Love it when a plan comes together and these big fish start chewing!
