You’ll head out in search of the freshwater trophy catch with Captain Steve VanAssche, a local pro with a wealth of experience. He takes out novice and experienced anglers alike to fish for their limit in these productive waterways.
Your vessel for the day is 21’ Lund Alaskan offshore sportfishing boat. She can comfortably accommodate up to 5 anglers, with 4 able to fish at the same time. You’ll stay on top of your freshwater target thanks to top-notch GPS and FishFinder technology and entice his bite with bait kept fresh in the live well.
Freshwater anglers love going after Walleye for the fast-paced action and a stocked cooler. Jigging is king when it comes to hooking these fish and Capt. Steve provides all the right gear for fishing in this depth of water. Hook a little bit of live bait at the end of your jig and the Walleye come running!
You’ll want to bring enough drinks and snacks to keep you going during the trip in a cooler. Once you’ve finished up, load it up with your fresh catch, cleaned and bagged by Capt. Steve. It’s also important to remember to pick up a valid Michigan fishing license online or from a licensed vendor before you arrive.

Captain was great
Although fishing can be trying at times Captain Steve did all he could to make sure that we had an enjoyable outing, although the weather did not cooperate and it rained most of the morning we enjoyed our time on the the lake fishing, again fishing can be a tricky thing and this outing was no exception, the fish just didn't want to bite but of all the boats in the area we were able to catch the most, I think the captain felt guilty and kept us out a little longer than he should have but again he wanted to make sure that we got what we paid for. Captain Steve arrived on time, was knowledgeable on where we needed to be to catch the species of fish that we wanted, Upon returning to shore he promptly cleaned the fish even in the rain and had us on our way within a half hour. I would definitely recommend him on any outing that you are planning to take, Communications were great prior to the trip and he didn't require full payment until we returned to the docks.
