Hurricane Charters
Hurricane Charters is a light tackle professional guide service dedicated to inshore fishing in the Panama City Beach area. Come explore the pristine and beautiful bays, bayous, and backwaters of the area with Captain Eric Nelson as your guide – an extremely passionate angler with decades of experience, both offshore and inshore.
Your fishing platform will be a 2023 19’ East Cape VHP powered with a Mercury 175 HP outboard. This rig strikes a good balance between speed, seaworthiness, and the ability to fish skinny water. The boat comfortably accommodates up to 3 adult anglers. High-quality rods and reels will be provided, as well as fishing tackle, licenses, ice, and bottled water.
Trips can be geared towards the expert and novice alike, and my first priority is to create a fun and relaxing angling adventure. You’ll primarily be using artificial lures, as they make the chase more challenging and the catch more rewarding!
The primary targeted species will be Redfish and Speckled Trout in the bays and marshes and on shallow grass flats. We will generally be fishing water less than 5' deep with a variety of lures including topwater plugs, spoons, jigs, and swimbaits. Sight fishing along the beach during the cooler months is also an option with the proper conditions and presents opportunities for some pretty nice Redfish. Excellent Trip
We had an amazing time fishing with Captain Eric Nelson! From start to finish, he kept us informed, engaged, and made sure we had a great experience. He put us on fish early and often, and what really stood out was how flexible he was—toward the end of the trip, he let us choose what species we wanted to target, which made it feel even more personalized. Captain Eric clearly knows his stuff and made the whole trip fun and memorable. We had an absolute blast and highly recommend booking with him!

4 Hour Inshore Flats Fishing - A.M.
Great times and PB’s
We had an awesome time out on the water this morning! Once we found the trout, it felt like we couldn’t catch them fast enough — nonstop action. After that, we went looking for some reds to add a challenge to the day. We saw some monsters out there! The wind made things a bit tricky, but we still managed to land a few. Overall, it was a great experience. I’d definitely recommend him and look forward to coming back again!

5 Hour Inshore Flats Fishing - P.M.
Very Enjoyable Trip
Thanks to Capt Eric for a great time and effort to get us on some fish. Caught a few specks. Given weather patterns the week we went out, it was slow day, but Eric went above and beyond to try to get us on some schools. Would definitely consider coming back for another trip when weather is more conducive to sight fishing for Reds; Capt Eric’s boat and setup would be fantastic for sight fishing reds on the flats.

Tarpon Fishing - 5 Hours
Inshore bay fishing
Originally booked the tarpon fishing but the weather was too bad but Eric still took us out for the inshore bay fishing. We had an absolute blast! Very knowledgeable guy easy to talk to and he helped my Wife every step of the way with casting and working the different type of baits! He an excellent guy and he put us on the fish almost constant action highly recommend him!

3 Hour Inshore Fishing - Early A.M.
Great morning of inshore action!
Captain Eric was awesome! The bite was a little slow first thing at 5:00 but that didn’t discourage him! We worked grasslines and flats to catch a TON of trout! A nice slot red and several other species! Could not have asked for a more relaxed morning of fishing! The boat was clean and accessible and the equipment top notch! Would recommend 10/10 everytime!
