Grumpy's Charters
Make your way to the south end of Lake Erie for some world-class fishing! You’ll be out on the water with Captain Al who has over 40 years of Walleye fishing experience on this lake.
He’ll take you to the water on his 23’ Chris-Craft walkaround. Built in 1985, its been Captain Al’s trusted companion for a long time. It’s rigged up with all that you need for a successful day on the lake including fishfinder technology, GPS, and a live bait well.
Walleye is the specialty species of Lake Erie so that will be your main target. However, the lake has Smallmouth Bass, Yellow Perch, and Crappie that you can also target. Rods and reels are supplied for trolling but if you wish to go jigging you should take your own gear for it.
If you are from Ohio then a Lake Erie permit is covered but if you’re from elsewhere then you’ll need to book it in advance of your trip. Catch cleaning is not included in the price but you’ll be given directions to the nearest cleaning stations. Live bait is used occasionally and if you would like to use it then please ask in advance so that it can be arranged for you.
For some superb Trophy Walleye fishing, you need not look much further beyond Grumpy’s Charters.

Awesome Trip for my wish list
I was on a 2.5 RV trip visiting the northeast USA from AZ and wanted to experiance walleye fishing on Erie. Wife not up for it so I booked with Captain AL for a single morning charter out of Lorain mid July. Captain Al made several calls to insure the booking was correct and that I understood what I should bring for the day. He sugguested for a real experiance we should go after them casting rather than troll(which he said may take longer). We caught our limit on his gear using spinners with worms. Great time catching fish and learning about the area and how the fish move throughout the lakes. A few were in the 18" but most were 20"-25". I had counted on a cleaning station at the dock and brought a cooler for fillets not whole fish. Made due using a camp chair bag filled with ice to get fish back to my RV to fillet....wife not happy about that part. Would love to do another trip with Captain AL. I plan to be back in Ohio next year and will drive up from Columbus to do this again with him.

Fishing with Grumpy’s Charter Made My Son and I Happy!
Captain Al didn’t have the prettiest boat on the water however I would say it was about the best boat to be on if you are there to catch some really nice walleye’ He knows is stuff as a true expert and keeps the gear on his boat in top notch condition! He had us limited out in 5-8 lbs walleye within 3 hours! What a great time! We plan on making this 5 hour trip at least once a year and maybe twice a year! Thanks Captain Al for a really exciting fishing trip. Your 50 plus years experience fishing these waters was obvious in the action we had catching these great fish!

Captain Al was great! This was a mother son trip and the boat size was perfect. Captain Al was so kind, patient, and well equipped with lures and supplies. We will definitely be booking again! He also treated us with smoked salmon that was delicious 😊

A full day a fishing with Captain Al
My husband and myself went on a fishing charter with Captain Al. We were fishing for walleyes and boy did we get them! We got two 30 inch walleyes, the total amount of walleyes we got on that day was 19!! Captain Al and Dave are very nice people to fish with they made sure we were comfortable on their boat. We planning on taking another Charter around September. We recommend Captain Al's ( Grumpy's Charter) if you want to have a good day of fishing with nice people to be with book then you want to book with Captain Al's Grumpy's Charter!!😍😍
