+26Ewing charters invite you to enjoy a fun and productive day of fishing on East Lake Ontario. They’re based in Henderson Harbor, New York which is a freshwater fishery known as the ‘Golden Crescent’. On your day of fishing you will be with Capt. Tom Ewing, a USCG Licensed Captain. He brings over 30 years of experience on the big lake and knows the hot spots to get you on the fish.
Ewing Charters operates the ‘Silver Bullet’. This is a 26’ Penn Yann Fisherman boat with a 10’ beam to give you all the space to catch the big fish. The ‘Silver Bullet’ is powered by a 370 HP custom built gas motor and rigged with finders and navigational electronics.
The species on that you will target on the lake is dependent on the season. You will be targeting Lake Trout, Brown Trout and Salmon from May until September. Walleye in May threw mid June and August threw September. Northern Pike and Pickerel in May and June. Smallmouth Bass can be caught from from June 15th to the end of September.
Included on your trip are all the rods, reels, tackle, and our complimentary fish cleaning service. You will need to purchase an NYS fishing license if you are age 16 or older. Bring your snacks and drinks along with a cooler for the end of the day to take your catch home. A first mate is also on board to make your trip more enjoyable.

6 Hour Trip – Trout/Salmon (AM) on August 25, 2024
Perfect day on the water, and the time of his life for my 11 year old nephew! Other boats were struggling to get on the fish, but Capt Tom knew where to go… the salmon may not have been cooperating, but we still came home with our limit in Lakers, including 4 bruisers pushing 20 pounds! Sore arms and smiles all around made for one happy boat. Thank you Capt Tom and Gary - you guys made our day!!

A big thank you to Tom and Gary for making our trip very fun yesterday. Captain put us on the fish (Lake Trout) about an hour into our trip and we caught pretty steady until it was time to pack it in. Great guys; we will be back!!

I have been fishing Lake Ontario all my life. I started fishing for Smallmouth Bass. Then with the stocking of the Salmon and Trout I gave it a try. I found out that there were many big trophy fish to be caught on Lake Ontario. I caught my limit of fish on a daily basis. People would see the success I had when I got back to the dock. They kept asking me if I was a charter captain. That's when I decided to get my USCG LICENSE in 1988 and started my own business. Now I enjoy watching my clients catching the fish and having fun doing it.
