The trips are available year round, so you can join any time you want. You can start your adventure from Pine Island, Captiva Island, Fort Myers, or Sanibel.
The captain welcomes you on his 25' Pathfinder boat that accommodates up to 6 guests (4 anglers). Equipped with the latest navigational electronics, safety equipment, and a live bait tank, you'll have everything you need for a great day of fishing.
This area is famous for its variety of inshore and nearshore species. You can catch anything, from huge Redfish, Snook, and Tarpon, to Spotted Seatrout, and different types of Grouper and Snapper. Your daily targets can be adjusted to your skill level, so you can start with something that's easier to catch and progress to fish that's more demanding. This is a great opportunity for the kids to catch their first fish and start loving the outdoors.
You get to keep the catch and the captain will clean it for you free of charge. He'll also cover your fishing license and equipment. You only need to bring sunscreen, snacks, and drinks of your choice.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Captain Cody from Make a Wake Fishing Charters! My wife, my son, and I went out with him for a backwaters fishing charter, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. Captain Cody was extremely knowledgeable—not only about fishing, but also about all of the wildlife and the area we explored along the way. He was incredibly friendly, easygoing, and made the entire trip fun from start to finish. What impressed us most was how great he was with our son. He was patient, encouraging, and always willing to help him out, which made the experience that much more special for our family. We genuinely loved spending the day with Captain Cody and would 100% book with him again. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, personable captain who is also fantastic with kids and families, we can’t recommend Captain Cody and Make a Wake Fishing Charters enough!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Day on the Water with Captain Cody! If you are looking for a top-tier fishing charter in Captiva, look no further than Captain Cody. Our family of five (my wife, our three daughters, and myself) had an absolutely incredible day out on the water with him. Right from the start, we were impressed by his setup. Cody runs a beautiful, well-maintained 25’ Pathfinder bay boat equipped with a tower for spotting fish. It was incredibly spacious, and our entire family felt completely safe and comfortable the entire day. On top of that, all of his rods, reels, and gear are absolute top-of-the-line, which made the fishing experience even better. Cody’s energy is fantastic—he is super fun, enthusiastic, and has an encyclopedic knowledge of the local waters. He knew exactly where to go and kept us on a massive variety of fish all day long. We were constantly reeling them in, landing everything from Sea Trout and Snook to even a Grouper! What makes booking with Cody even better is knowing you are supporting a true local professional. This is Cody’s full-time job, and his charter business helps support his young family. His passion for his livelihood shows in every single detail of the trip. He was amazing with the kids, keeping everyone engaged, excited, and catching fish. It was easily one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you, Cody, for an unforgettable family day—we will absolutely be booking again next time we are in Captiva! We had an excellent fishing trip with Captain Cody. He put us on fish all day with his strong knowledge of the area and great guiding. We landed trout, snook, snapper, and redfish, with the snook bite being the highlight of the trip. The boat handled perfectly, the equipment was excellent, and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Captain Cody’s expertise made the difference and turned it into a truly memorable trip. We’ll definitely be booking with him again in the future. Highly recommended.
Great trip and experience. Fortunate to have gone on many Florida fishing charters and would say this was one of the best. Amazing and timely communication prior to the trip. Open to our changes in group size without hesitation. Ahead of schedule waiting for us at the dock, fishing was Great, open to changing plans quickly as on this trip I had my 3 young daughters. Seen dolphins and manatees up close, stopped on sandbar for shells which my kids loved. Kept everyone entertained during down time. Even stayed out a hour longer then planned due to hot fishing spot and he refused payment for the extra time. Fillet and bagged our fish. Great professional!!!

We set out to specifically target tarpon. Although we did not catch any, Captain Cody worked hard at trying to find them. Water temps were unusually high for the week we were there at 92 to 93 degrees, well above the peak temps. However, we still had a geat time, my son described the day as amazing and we did still catch a shark and a couple fish. We will reach out to Cody for our next trip and finally hook some tarpon. I highly recomend him as your guide.

Captain Cody has been fishing since he was a boy, but started to do this professionally in 2006. Born and raised in Florida, he's a second generation of fishermen. He realized that people love to go fishing, but they don't have the ability to do it on their own, so he decided to make it easy for them. He taught many people how to fish, especially children. It's always an exciting experience when they catch their first fish.
