Big Butt Charters – Captain Josh
+6Big Butt Charters (short for Big Halibut Charters), invites you to visit Homer, Alaska – “Halibut Fishing Capital of the World." Captain Josh is ready to take you on the fishing trip of a lifetime. He is an expert at fishing the many species which call these waters home – Halibut, Salmon, Rockfish and Lingcod. You will also view breathtaking scenery and wildlife along the way.
You’ll be fishing aboard the Early Riser, a 2019 North River 31’X108” Seahawk OS 3100SXL. Powered by a pair of 300 HP Yamaha engines, the Early Riser is equipped with top of the line safety, navigation, and fishing gear for a safe, comfortable, and productive trip. Amenities include a stand-up flushing toilet, galley with sink, heater, and oversized dinette. There is plenty of space onboard for up to 6 guests.
We offer a variety of fishing trips to choose from, depending on what you want to catch. Take a specialized trip for Salmon, Halibut, and Rockfish, or target all at once on a Combo adventure. If your fishing buddies are not with you, you can always take a shared trip and join other anglers.
The price of each trip will include all the rods, reels, and terminal tackle you need for a great time. You will need to bring a valid Alaska fishing license. Feel free to bring drinks and snacks (no glass please). At the conclusion of your trip the crew will clean and fillet your catch.
All trip durations are subject to change due to catch limits, weather, and safety reasons.

It was a very nice experience having that fishing trip with Captain Josh. We have booked it from Germany for our holidays in Alaska. Josh is a very professional and kind captain who knows the right fishing spots. So we catched several halibut, rockfish, cod and also a king salmon. So all in all an exceptional experience and a perfect day. Highly recommended.

Captain Chuck and his deck crew Maddie were excellent. Capt. Chuck suggested we play a name game to introduce all of us. It was a wonderful trip and everyone caught their limit.

We had a great trip thanks to our Captain Jordan and his crew Sienna. The boat we were on was the perfect and size and thanks to their expertise we were able to have a great time and got some great fish! Highly recommend and will always come back to them for any future trips up here!
