Daytona Beach Charters is run by Captain Michael, who has 40 years of experience fishing in the waters of the Shark Bite Capital of the World. Setting off from Ponce Inlet, Mike loves sweeping the surrounding nearshore and inshore areas.
Reel in delicious Snapper and Flounder from the bottom, jig for the area’s renowned Redfish, Bluefish, and Whiting, or cast for some Seatrout or Black Drum. Capt. Michael prefers live shrimp, cut shrimp, or mullet to any artificial lures. He will do everything he can to make your trip bountiful.
Capt. Michael commands a 22’ Skeeter boat that is powered by a Yamaha 200 HP four stroke engine and is large enough to comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests. It is equipped with a poling platform, two baitwells, a Power-Pole anchor, holders for trolling rods, two casting seats, a flat casting deck, and an assortment of navigational/fishfinding electronics. Shimano spinning rods are the weapon of choice for this skipper.
Fishing licenses are provided by the captain for everyone on board for your convenience, along with full insurance. As far as your catch goes, you get to keep whatever you reel in (as long as it falls within the fishing regulations) and bring it home for dinner, neatly filleted and wrapped up. Tipping is extra.

Great first time for our Mother & Daughter trip

We had a great time out on the water with Capt. Mike. I explained to him it was our first time fishing in years, let alone a nearshore experience! We caught a variety of fish but got to take home some snapper to cook up after our trip for lunch! We saw a dolphin, variety of birds and a manatee! He took us to a few different spots as well so we could try to catch ‘em all! We had a great day as well as Capt. Mike showing us some different attractions and his insiders information on the town around us. Loved our time, worth the money and experience! Thanks Capt. Mike!!

A Great Captain makes the trip!!

Captain Michael was great with my family. I took my 15 year old, 7 year old, 6 year old, and 4 year old and they all had a really good time. It was a tough day getting the fish to bite but the captain kept switching up hook sizes and baits and all the kids ending up catching a few fish each. The youngest had the most fun netting bait for Captain Michael while he was baiting lines. Would 100% recommend for anyone hesitant about taking their younger children out or for anyone looking to do some good fishing.

Fishing in Florida was on my “to do” list for this vacation and I am so happy I decided on Captain Michael Blecher’s 4 hour river trip! We caught several varieties of fish and I even got “snookered”! (Hooked a big Snook and before I could reel him all the way to the boat, he jumped up in the air, flipped his head and spit out the hook!). Coming back along the river the sunset was a stunning sight. I’ll be back for another run with this captain and crew!
