My Lake Ida fishing charters allow you to explore Lake Ida the right way, 1st class style. Based in Fort Lauderdale, my charter offers a year-round adventure with top of the line boat and equipment. The area has a lot of less than desirable boats and equipment, be careful of what you choose. If you like to get what you pay for and then some with no surprises, you will like my charters. Born and raised in the area and has over 20 years of fishing experience. He welcomes experienced and novice anglers, so you don’t need any preparation for this trip. Just bring a bit of a positive attitude and we will take care of everything else.
You’ll be fishing on a comfortable 22’ Sterling boat that accommodates up to 4 guests. This bay boat is powered by a 250 HP Suzuki engine that offers a safe and fast ride. Wheelchair-bound anglers are also welcome to join. The boat features navigational electronics, such as a fish finder, GPS, and a VHF radio. There’s a cooler for your drinks and snacks, but if you’re planning to take the fish home, feel free to bring your cooler.
The fish you can target is just what Capt. Brett specializes in – Largemouth Bass, Peacock Bass, Clown Knifefish, and Snakehead, using live bait and/or artificial baits. He’ll show you the best ways to catch fish with light tackle and fly fishing. The trips usually start early in the morning, but this is flexible to meet your schedule.
Your captain covers your fishing equipment and bottled water. Bring your fishing license and pack some snacks for the day.
Even pets are welcome to join, so you don’t have to leave anybody behind. Bring your friends and family and spend a fantastic day with Capt Brett's Fishing Charters!

Bucket List Fulfilled!
First time in Florida with a small window to fish. I reached out to Captain Brett and reserved our 6hr trip on Lake Ida for my wife and I. Communication was simple leading up to our reservation as we met Captain Brett at the dock on the morning of. It was fun exploring the lake and its canals as we moved to the next fishing spot. Captain Brett made it too easy setting up our poles and baiting our lines. He was exactly what I expected in a guide, knowledgeable about the lake, hot spots to fish, and made us feel comfortable on his boat. We caught Clown’s, Peacocks, Largemouth, and some native Cichlids. Captain Brett is the real deal! We can’t wait to come back and fish Florida again!

The morning started early with a calm breeze and mist rising over the water—absolutely beautiful. Our guide was not only friendly and professional but knew the waters inside and out. He took us straight to the hotspots, where the bass were hitting like crazy. We landed several largemouths and even got into a few peacock bass, which was a first for me. What really stood out was the guide’s passion—he shared stories, explained the ecosystem, and adjusted tactics as the bite changed throughout the day.
