Set Em Up Fishing Charters

If you want to test your fishing skill with up to 4 friends or family members, come on a trip with Set Em Up Fishing Charters. As they are situated in Jacksonville Florida, you can have a go with many different fishing opportunities. Capt. Joe Curtis will take you on the ride and help you with the catch.

His Pair custom boat will take you across the St. Johns River to the deep Blue. It is 28’ long and bear in mind the charter takes up to 5 guests. The maximum speed is 50 knots propelled by a single 300 HP Suzuki engine. There’s also a Minnkota i-Pilot wireless trolling motor on board as well as a 19" Humminbird chart plotter/fishfinder.

You’ll get to choose from several different trips. Offering everything from 4-8 hour trips, there is bound to be one for you! On all these locations you can test your skill with light and heavy tackle, as well as bottom fishing techniques or trolling. The variety of locations also offers diverse catch options ranging from Redfish and Flounder to King Mackerel and Cobia.

If you’re looking to release your trophy hopefully after you’ve taken a photo of it, that’s absolutely fine. Otherwise, you get to keep your catch, and the captain will clean it. The charter will have you covered with the fishing licenses, along with the necessary fishing equipment and lures. Be sure to bring your own snacks and drinks.

Once you decide what kind of fishing adventure you want, book a trip, and good luck!

Allow the captain an hour or two to make sure your trip has enough bait. A little patience can result in epic fishing. Captain Joe will provide you with an exciting and safe fishing experience in the waters of Jacksonville. He'll do everything in his power to put and keep you on the best bite in the area. Captain Joe considers himself a jack of all trades. Over the years, he has spent time working the deck offshore either charter or commercial fishing for local Snapper and Grouper species. He's also worked on private sport fishing boats trolling the blue water around Florida, all the while spending as much time as he could learning Florida's vast backwater fishing for Redfish, Flounder, Trout, Black Drum, and Sheepshead. His goal with fishing is to create you and your family and friends memories that will last a lifetime.

To keep it simple things are absolutely on fire offshore and nearshore!! Offshore there has been an Incredible run of dolphin in the deep water had kept the rods bent and the belly’s full. Seeing them both trolling and bottom fishing with an awesome average size! Nearshore Kingfish have fired right up. Some days can be easy throwing the net on pogies and the days when that isn’t possible taking a little more time on the jumbo sardines and cigar minnows has made its breeze and the majority of the 4/6 hour offshore trips have been spent with lines in. Inshore has started to slow down as the water has heated up. Lots of small flounder, mangrove snapper, jacks, ladyfish and a couple redfish still biting. But this has required a hit and run mentality. Sometimes fishing for less than 15 min on a spot before moving. It wasn’t uncommon to fish 5/8 spots on a 4 hour trip last week with finding 2/4 keepers the whole day. With the ringing in of June 1st ends our shallow water skiff trips as well. For best action choose the 4-8 hour offshore trips!
