Eric Scoble Blackwater Charters II

MM 90 Overseas Hwy
Islamorada FL, United States

Captain Eric Scoble’s Blackwater Charters offers fishing trips out of Islamorada, FL. If you want to go fishing around the offshore reefs or head towards the Gulf, this charter is for you. Not far from the dock lies probably the best sportfishing fishery in the world. Here you can target anything from Mahi to Snapper.

Capt. Eric runs trips year round. You will be fishing around the reefs, looking for Yellowtail and Mangrove Snapper, or trolling offshore for Mahi and Wahoo, and likely Sailfish as well. You can also stay inshore on the Gulf side and target the likes of Tarpon and other species.

Whichever course you set, you will have a reliable vessel to put you on track. ‘Serenity’ is a 25’ custom-built open center console. She is powered by a 250 HP Evinrude engine and can reach speeds of up to 40 knots. The boat can take up to four anglers. She is spacious and fit to fish around the reefs on the Atlantic side and the Gulf. The boat is equipped with outriggers, navigational electronics, has a Yeti fish box, and stores quality tackle. There is plenty of shade and comfortable seating.

You can try anything from trolling to kite fishing, depending on the conditions and your preferred fishing method. The trips are great for both novice anglers and pro fishos. Capt. Eric will supply all the fishing gear and bait, as well as the license. He will also clean your catch, which means you only need to bring food and drinks.

When packing for the trip, prepare a cap, polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, and comfortable clothes. You may also want to bring seasickness medication. Of course, don’t forget to get your camera ready.

Captain Eric has another boat in his fleet. If you’d rather fish around the flats, find a spot by clicking on the captain’s name below.

Capt. Eric's grandfather was a successful fishing guide who first taught him how to fish. His father, also a fishing guide, continued his education. Eric's been a guide himself for over 15 years now and is on these waters almost every single day. Capt. Eric will make sure you have a nice day out on the water, whether you're fishing creeks, estuaries or flats.

Myself and a mate embarked on a full day excursion with Captain Eric in late November of 2017. Unfortunately this was only recent after the hurricane which tore through the keys, proving difficult to catch a fish. We got onto a couple but in no real numbers, however we thoroughly enjoyed our day. Captain Eric was very accommodating and though we were both experienced fisherman, he thoughtfully still insisted on baiting hooks and casting out our lines for us. His knowledge of fishing in the keys for the past 35 years can be seen as we journeyed from spot to spot were he educated or shared a story with us. Though us two 20 year old Australian blokes weren’t able to pull in much but still managed to have a great time, I’m sure Captain Eric will ensure anyone who continues to go with him will have as much fun as we did (fish or not)

Capt. Eric puts you right on the fish and all you have to do is reel them in. Capt. Eric who was born and raised in the keys and knows the waters well.  This day he took me about four miles out to the edge of a reef and full of Yellowtails. He is friendly, knowledgeable and made my trip fun. I scheduled an extra trip because of my great experience.
