Fish onboard a 28’ Steiger Craft that can accommodate up to 6 guests of any age. There is a private, full-sized flushable toilet in the lower cabin. Sit in the helm station area to avoid the sun and weather. She’s powered by twin 250 HP Yamaha engines and has Garmin electronics. The vessel is inspected by USCG.
We simply love to fish and can accommodate anglers of any age and experience level. We take great pride in setting up a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. For the experienced, results-driven angler, we’re ready. We always provide high-quality bait and tackle and work hard to put you on the fish.
Capt. Mike is a native of the Cape - Atlantic area and has 50 years of experience fishing the waters around Ocean City, from the back creeks to the canyons. He has presented lectures on back-bay fishing on behalf of "The Fisherman" magazine. He has been a USCG-licensed, full-time professional captain, guide, and mariner for 19 years.
During summer, you can target flounder, croaker, weakfish, and other species on the back bays or the ocean. On an ocean trip, you may also target smaller tunas, sharks, and cobia during the warmer months. You can also head offshore for tuna, mahi, and wahoo.
The Spring and Fall offer stripers or bottom fish. You can jig, cast, or troll depending on what is working.

The crew includes a mate to help you. Mates work hard and for tips. So please, a 15% gratuity for the mate is appropriate

Fantastic outing!
2 Hour Family Fish Adventure -Eve. on August 2, 2024
We had a great time fishing with Captain Michael and his crew. We took our three kids ages 15, 12 and 8 and each had a wonderful experience. They explained everything clearly and were very helpful throughout. We had a 2 hour trip and it was the perfect amount of time for each of the kids to catch fish, some caught multiple fish. Capt. Michael and his crew were patient and encouraging when they could see that our youngest was getting a little frustrated and had him smiling, catching and laughing in no time. Each of us had the best time and the kids can't wait to go out again. We would highly recommend Mighty Heron and Captain Michael.

7 Hour Trip – Nearshore Trolling AM on August 11, 2024
So this would have been a 5 star trip if the fish were more cooperative. Captain Mike and his mate Anthony were great with us. Both seemed very knowledgeable about the local waters. fish and how to catch them. They even humored me by answering my 1000 questions on the boat. we decided to still go out even though a that early August storm flipped the ocean upside-down (dammit debby!!), and I belive the storm shut the fish off for the weekend as it was evident that the other boats locally were having the same amount of trouble as us. I would 100% recommend the Mighty Theron and I will visit him again myself the next time I'm in town. Id also like to point out that of all the fishing trips ive done, this was my favorite boat to fish out of. Thanks cap!

3 Hour Trip – Calm Bay - Evening on June 12, 2024
Captain Michael and first mate Colt provided our group with a really enjoyable 3 hour bay fishing trip. They were both courteous and knowledgeable, will to share their experiences with us to help us learn from them. Boat was spacious and spotless. Captain took us to several locations to try and find the best conditions and optimal fishing spots. Colt made the fishing itself simple and approachable. Highly recommend these gentlemen for your next excursion in the OCNJ area!

They were absolutely amazing with our 8-year-old and kept him interested all the time. Captain Mike warned us before the tour that the weather conditions are not great, and offered us to reschedule. We decided to go anyway, and even though we caught only one flounder, we have had absolutely great time! Highly recommended!

Why did I become a fisherman? I was kind of born into it. I am a native of South Jersey. I started fishing the bays with my parents and brothers when I was about 7 years old and progressively fished further offshore so I was fishing the canyons by my 20s. I take pride in working with all skill levels and teaching those with little experience. A great day is when we have caught fish, everyone had a good time, and I can share my love of fishing.
