Captain Billy has been a licensed fishing guide on these waters for over 20 years and loves to share his tricks. His son Blake has been working on the boat for 7 seasons and also has a USCG Masters License. There are no hired captains and you can always count on going on a trip with Capt Blake or Billy. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasonal angler, there’s a spot for you on his boat.
The boat is a custom 32’ Island Hopper that accommodates up to 6 guests. This vessel has a 12’ beam and it’s powered by a 600 HP Cummins engine. Besides modern navigational electronics, a private bathroom, and lots of seating space in the shade, the boat is also wheelchair accessible. Capt. Bill doesn’t spare anything to make sure his boat is equipped and well maintained.
All trips start at Anchors Away Marina in Marblehead and they are available from April till November. At the beginning of the season, you’ll visit the spots west of the Lake Erie Islands, while in the summer the best spots are in Northern Ohio and Southern Ontario waters. Towards the end of the season, you’ll go to Vermillion and Lorain area.
Besides Walleye, you can also catch Steelhead, Smallmouth Bass and Yellow Perch. Both drifting and trolling are an option, depending on your skills and preferences.
All fishing equipment is covered. You need to cover your fishing licenses and pack some snacks and drinks for the day.

If you want to experience Lake Erie fishing in first class, then Eyehooker should be on the top of your list. Captain Bill, Blake and Kelly were very professional. They kept us well informed from the time we booked the trip until our fish were cleaned and ready for the trip home. They had a well thought out game plan, knew where to find the fish and had the boat and equipment to travel a great distance to get us on the fish. We were blessed with our limits of really nice Walley in just a little over an hour. Captain Bill and Blake were super nice guys and you could tell that they love what they do. I am an amateur at fishing but have booked a few lake erie fishing charters over the years with my family. I was skeptical as a similar charter with another Captain 2 days before didn't produce much. Our charter on 9-4-22 was the best fishing experience I have ever had. They have a really nice boat and they take care of it. The fishing poles were nice and well maintained. The Captain was outgoing, friendly and clearly enjoys what he does. The First-Mate worked non-stop. The Captain (Bill) went after the fish and the 6 of us caught our limit of Walleye with nearly 2 hours to spare. They cleaned the fish for us. I plan on using Eyehooker Sportfishing when I return next year.
