First he started with realistic expectations on what would or would not be in the area size etc. but definitely exceeded those expectations! Not only did we catch all sorts of fish, we saw turtles, dolphins, manatee, barracuda and sharks. We both hooked a shark and I had him right along side of the boat but he broke the line. We caught tons of fish and let go of the small ones and the ones not in season(of course). Jason knew every fish we caught - telling us about the fish(some we have never seen before!). Very knowledgeable fishing guide, makes it about what you and catching fish! Definitely only going with Jason anytime I’m fishing! Helped make sure to teach us more efficient ways to catch and helped when we needed it! Even told us the perfect place to go to have them cook our fresh caught fish!!

My wife, dad, and I had a great trip with Captain Jason and Neptune Fishing Charters. We opted for the 4 hour trip and it was more than worth it. Jason put us on fish from the very first line drop. We ended up catching about 150 fish which 40 were keepers in season. Also we caught a wide variety of fish: White grunts, hogfish, sea bass, spots, red grouper, gag grouper,  a rare pork fish, trigger fish, mango snapper, flounder, and several other varieties. Jason filleted some of the grunts, sea bass, mango snapper, and hog fish that were keepers, and he recommended a few restaurants that would cook up your catch. We ended up going to Salt Cracker and they did an amazing job cooking up our catch. I would definitely recommend Jason and Neptune Fishing Charters for your next fishing trip.He was both very knowledge and very welcoming. It was a GREAT trip from beginning to end and Neptune Fishing Charters and Captain Jason will be our go to for our next trip! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I cannot recommend Capt Jason and Neptune enough. He made it expressly clear and reinforced he wanted everyone to have a good time on our trip. My son caught fish at every stop we went to. We caught 6 different species and kept enough for a couple meals. Capt Jason even recommended a restaurant that would cook it for us. The restaurant did a great job and the food was very tasty!  The boat was great and capt Jason took extra care to make sure we would be sick from a rough ride (were seasoned boaters but he would still ask which is nice)!  He’s a local who’s lived in Clearwater his whole life.  He knew the spots to hit and tailored the trip to our mission (put my son on fish and keep him engaged…he’s 12 with ADHD). My son LOVED it and had a blast. I will definitely book again when I come back to St Pete!

I booked this charter as a surprise gift for my fiancé. This experience was more than I imagine. Captain Jason was very patient, helpful, accommodating, and very experienced. His experience led to my fiancé, catching a goliath grouper, which gave my fiancé an experience that money can’t buy. I was nervous about going out into the ocean, however, Captain Jason took his time and made sure I was comfortable before we went in the middle of the ocean. I overcame my fear and was able to enjoy this magnificent experience with my fiancé.  Thank you Captain Jason and I highly recommend you to anyone wanting to charter in the Clearwater and Gulf of Mexico area.

We traveled to the Clearwater area from NC because our son wanted to fish in the Gulf of Mexico for his 13th birthday. We ended up having to do a nearshore trip due to it being too windy while we were there, but it still ended up being a great time! Jason was extremely knowledgeable about everything-the fish, the water, the vegetation, and more. He was patient and helped us try to unlearn some bad fishing habits we’d picked up. 😉 We were very pleased with the fish we caught and would highly recommend his services to anyone. He also gave us some great tips for local eats in the area. We look forward to planning another trip with him the next time we are in the area!
