Folly Beach Fishing welcomes you to Folly Beach, South Carolina! Treat yourself to a fun and enjoyable fishing trip to this first-class destination. Along with the friendly Captain Kevin Blair, you’ll most often fish inshore but will have the option to fish nearshore and enjoy the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean. Book today and let Folly Beach Fishing take you on a true fishing adventure.

You’ll fish from a fine 25’ Sea Fox center console powered by a 250 HP Yamaha engine. It can sit up to 6 guests and uses modern navigation technology, which includes GPS, fishfinder, and radio. There’s an onboard livewell to supply you with live bait, as well as a wireless trolling motor used for a more stealthy approach.

There’s a huge choice of fish you can target. There’s Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Whiting, Spanish Mackerel, Sheepshead, Shark, and many more. You’ll use light tackle for most of your trip. You can keep the fish you catch and take it home for some delicious meals. This doesn’t apply to sharks as they’re catch and release only. Also, feel free to bring along kids, it can be a wonderful experience for them and everybody will have more fun with them around.

The captain supplies you with all the rods, reels, and tackle. When possible, live bait will be caught before your charter. On 4- and 6-hour charters, the captain will clean and fillet your catch. He’ll also provide cold bottled water and fishing licenses.

Have a lot of angling fun with Folly Beach Fishing!

Folly Beach fishing in December
Folly Beach fishing in December
November 30, 2022
Charter Fishing in Folly Beach! December is one of the best months for fishing inshore for Redfish and Speckled Trout. These fish feed heavily in advance of our short winter, and now is the time to boat large numbers of quality fish. We typically focus on fishing for large schools that gather around shallow creeks and river bends, using live shrimp and minnows that are still abundant in our waters. For the angler that likes more of a skill based fishing charter we can target those fish with a variety of lures. We will cast soft plastic swim baits and crank baits. In my opinion nothing is more fun than feeling the fish attack your lure as you are working the bait past them. When you feel the fish inhale your bait a swift hook set will will get you connected and ready to do battle! On Calm days we will venture to our nearshore reefs to fish for Sheepshead and Weakfish. Both these species gather in large numbers to intercept baitfish as begin to head to deeper waters for our short winter. We will also expect to see large Black Drum ranging from 10 to 30 lbs. at those reefs. When those tough fish inhale your bait you need to lean back and lift your rod back to turn their heads away from the rocks or you may lose them to the rocks. As always it’s best to book in advance online but feel free to text or call with questions or to book directly with us. Or weather cancellation policy is more liberal in the winter and late morning start times are more common. I would love to see you on deck this winter so let’s get you out there to enjoy some of the best fishing Folly Beach has to offer!

November fishing is the time for big num
November fishing is the time for big num
November 7, 2022
Charter Fishing in Folly Beach in November is hard to beat. This is the time of year our inshore Charters can boat big numbers of Redfish, Speckled Trout, Black Drum and several other species. The Redfish and Speckled Trout eagerly chase down mud minnows and shrimp cast under a float rig. If you want to cast artificial baits to them smaller swim baits by Z-Man will yield you solid results without the complications and cost of dealing with live bait. Nearshore reef fishing is also great this time of year. Black Drum and Sheepshead can be found foraging around rock piles. We drop shrimp, clam strips and Fiddler Crabs directly along the structure to entice these fish to strike. When they do, an immediate hook set is required to gain control of the fish before they swim back into the structure for safety. Weather and conditions permitting we will also pursue big schools of Weakfish that have taken up residence at the nearshore reefs. If we are lucky schools of Bull Reds can be found cruising about a mile off of Folly Beach and Charleston. In summary there is no shortage of game fish to target this time of year so don’t be caught sitting on the couch. Call or text to get on the schedule and let’s go fishing!
