New on Fishing Booker but with more than 15 years operating charters only in Gatun Lake. This number one national operator and winning captain of more than 20 tournaments in different species is located in a private marina on Gamboa.
Our 4 captains will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. This involves 3 to 12-hour trips, mainly fishing for Bass, Oscar, Snook, Tarpon, Jack Crevalle, and Tilapia, depending on the conditions on the day. On these trips, you can expect to use techniques such as light tackle, heavy tackle, trolling, fly fishing, popping, and spinning.
Your fishing adventure starts on a 20’ Orlando Clipper boat that can safely take up to 5 anglers. This boat comes with a 115 Suzuki 4 stroke engine and 70 lbs wireless trolling motor.
Or in a 17’ Polar Skiff boat that can safely take up tu 4 anglers, with a 60hp Suzuki 4 stroke engine and 70lb wireless troling motor.
All rods, high-range reels, and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. Your trip will include all the necessary fishing licenses for the day. The crew will clean and fillet your catch for you to take home at the end of the trip. The boat will be supplied with snacks, drinks, and lunch for your pleasure, be sure to let the captain know if you have any questions or want to bring your own.

Great trip all the fish you could want FLY fishermen this is your go to.
Wow just awesome everything delivered as promised, Everything on time, and highly recommended. Fished with fly, spinner, and live bait available if wanted. We literally caught hundreds of fish in 2 half days. Peacock bass with some trophy fish on fly and spinner. Snook and jacks on fly rod and spinner lures. Had schools of Tarpon rolling. Gerardo is a skilled fisherman who knows the water and area like the back of his hand. You will find him likeable and friendly. The boat was docked at the beautiful Gamboa Rainforest lodge, and it was comfortable, clean, and organized. It is set up for fishing only and not a ponga tourist boat like many guides use there. I can not express how happy we were with every aspect of the trip. There are absolutely no negative comments. Experienced fishermen will be more than satisfied, as well as opportunities for families and novices. Gerardo will patiently teach you how to fish these waters and is ecstatic to witness your successes. I have been on many fishing expeditions on Gatun as well as other locations, and nothing compares. The best trip of 65 years being a fisherman. If I have left something out it can only be positive. Book without trepidation with very reasonable rates.

Peacock Bass
Our fishing trip near Gamboa in Panama was absolutely unforgettable! We had an incredible day on the water, reeling in a bunch of vibrant, hard-fighting peacock bass that made for nonstop action and excitement. The lake itself was stunning, with calm waters and beautiful surroundings that added to the experience. What really made the trip stand out was Captain Gerardo—he was exceptionally knowledgeable, professional, and clearly passionate about fishing. He knew exactly where to go and what techniques to use, ensuring we had a successful and enjoyable outing. We couldn't have asked for a better guide or a better day of fishing!

Peacock Bass at Gatun Lake in the rain.
Our captain/fishing guide went out of his way to make our visit in Panama memorable. We came on a cruise ship so our time was limited and did not fit their normal fishing schedule. Gerardo, our guide, transported us in his own car from the cruise ship to Gatun lake. He completely adjusted his schedule to fit ours. We really enjoyed fishing in a remote area of the lake and even during midday, in a rain storm, we caught the peacock bass that we came to see. We also got to see 3 species of monkeys on the way. We were deep in the Panama rain forest and heard the eery sounds of howler monkeys while we were fishing. It was a great day with Gerardo.

WORLD CLASS PEACOCK BASS FISHING!
I have been fresh water fishing for 50+ years. Duran Gerardo is the best fishing guide I have ever employed! My wife and I caught more Peacock bass in 6 hours than we ever have culminating with a 5 lbs Peacock Bass. A personal best. Duran's knowledge and skill are incredible.
