The captain is a lifelong and cordial angler who knows how to make your trip fun and successful, so join him in Rockport and have a memorable stay on the water!
You will be fishing from a restored 23' Majek bay boat that can sit up to 4 anglers. It runs on a 200 HP Evinrude engine that can reach a maximum cruising speed of 45 knots. Along with modern GPS technology, the boat allows for a safe and quick trip to the fish. It also uses a wireless trolling motor for a more tactful approach to your prey and is equipped with a livewell.
Some of the lovely species you'll have the chance to catch include Jack Crevalle, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Ladyfish, Redfish, and more. You can catch them by bottom fishing, spinning, popping, as well as drift fishing, all using light tackle. You're free to keep all the fish that is allowed if you want to. Otherwise, simply release it back to the water.
Captain James will provide you with all the rods, reels, tackle, and lures, and will also clean and fillet your catch at no extra cost. What you should bring on your trip are just your fishing licenses, food, and drinks.

He gave us the time to get our limit on both trout and reds, even after missing several fish we should have hooked. The guy has passion for what he does and the knowledge and patience to do it. We had a hard day on the water the wind was terrible and although being an experienced angler of 40years, we were not experienced in catching redfish or trout, but Captain Hinton put us on the fish and kept instructing us until we picked it up. He was fun and cut up with us. Great guy trip we ended up getting our limit and had a great time liked his story on YouTube. Been on a lot of charter boats and when I find a captain like this. I always come back. Thanks Captain Hinton you turned me and my buddy on to a new way of fishing.

Captain James is originally from the Panhandle of Texas, where he raised a family and operated a successful cattle operation for over 30 years. He came to the South Coastal Bend area on an invite to bays fish for a weekend and made several return trips there after. When he was looking to make a life change fishing seemed like a natural fit. In 2019, Captain James made the move to Rockport, Texas. He spent the next year learning the water in and around the area. He also had several veteran fishing guides mentor him as well. Since then Captain James has become a very sought after fishing guide in the area.
